Tamil Nadu: BJP comes down heavily on CM Stalin for making unwanted and baseless allegations against the party

The Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued a stern response to DMK President and Chief Minister MK Stalin’s consistent criticism of the BJP, Prime Minister Modi, and party candidates. According to TN BJP spokesperson ANG Prasad, Stalin’s accusations are baseless, filled with falsehoods, and lack any semblance of truth.

Stalin recently cited an unauthorised private survey, claiming that the countdown to the end of BJP rule has begun. In response, Prasad addressed the media, stating, “Some may be deceived for some time; You can’t fool everyone all the time. Yes Mr. Stalin, You cannot deceive the Tamil Nadu people all the time.”

Prasad further accused Stalin of resorting to daily diatribes against Prime Minister Modi out of fear of defeat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He asserted that the ruling DMK would fail to secure a deposit in any constituency if it contested without an alliance. Prasad expressed confidence in the growing support for Prime Minister Modi in Tamil Nadu, claiming that the people of the state are ready to vote for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance.

Highlighting the electoral history of the DMK, Prasad emphasised that the party has consistently relied on alliances to secure victories. He noted that the DMK has only won six Assembly elections since its formation in 1957, often with the support of alliance parties. Prasad cited examples of electoral victories, including instances where the DMK benefited from the split of other major parties.

In a bold statement, BJP spokesperson ANG Prasad challenged the DMK and Stalin to contest the elections without forming alliances, asserting that they would fail to secure deposits in all 234 Assembly constituencies. Prasad warned that at least 50 constituencies would witness votes for None of the Above (NOTA), reflecting widespread discontent among voters.

Prasad highlighted the infrastructural developments in Tamil Nadu during the tenures of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the current Modi regime. He credited these developments, including highways, expressways, flyovers, and port and airport expansions, as key contributors to the state’s progress. Prasad emphasised that Tamil Nadu has greatly benefited from the schemes implemented by the Modi government.

The BJP spokesperson criticised the DMK government for its alleged failure to address infrastructure and education issues in Chennai, particularly the lack of government-run colleges and recurring flooding during the rainy season. Prasad accused Stalin of spreading falsehoods and misleading the public about the BJP’s efforts to address these challenges.

Taking a dig at Stalin’s confidence in an impending victory, Prasad asserted that the Modi wave is gaining momentum in Tamil Nadu, and the people will deliver a resounding verdict in favour of the BJP-led NDA alliance in the Lok Sabha polls on April 19. He predicted that the alliance’s victory would dismantle the Dravidian Model and pave the way for Tamil Nadu’s development under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.

The BJP’s aggressive stance underscores the intensifying political rivalry between the BJP and the DMK in Tamil Nadu. As the state gears up for crucial elections, both parties are sparing no effort to sway public opinion and secure electoral victories. With accusations flying and tensions rising, the political landscape in Tamil Nadu is set for a fierce battle in the days to come.
