Agartala: In a seismic political revelation, Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, scion of the Tripura Royal family and founder of Tipra Motha, has boldly proclaimed the diminishing sway of Congress and Left parties nationwide. Addressing media at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala, Pradyot asserted their electoral insignificance not just in Tripura but across India. “Congress and Left Parties are unlikely to win elections in the future, this implies not only in Tripura but also in other parts of the country”, he said.

Pradyot’s assertion coincided with his arrival alongside East and West Tripura BJP candidates, former CM Biplab Kumar Deb and his elder sister and royal daughter in law of Chattisgarh Kriti Singh Debbarma, respectively. Notably, Kriti Singh Debbarma, Pradyot’s elder sister and daughter-in-law of Kawardha Raj in Chhattisgarh, is poised to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Tripura West constituency on the BJP’s ticket. This strategic move follows extensive negotiations between BJP and Tipra Motha, culminating in a landmark agreement.

“We’ve inked history recently,” declared Pradyot, talking about the historic tripartite agreement between central, state government and Tipra Motha in New Delhi in presence of union home minister Amit Shah , visibly buoyant about the collaboration. “I’m thrilled that my sister, a candidate from our fold, has been chosen. Our accord aims for seamless implementation to swiftly address our concerns,” he emphasised.

While expressing his allegiance to Tripura’s populace, Pradyot avowed his aversion to political strife within the state. However, he affirmed his readiness to challenge adversaries. “I stand by my people. I’m their voice,” he asserted, alluding to entrenched political incumbency.

Echoing her brother’s fervour, Kriti Singh Debbarma pledged her commitment to Tripura’s welfare. “We’re here for Tripura’s people, and I’ll spare no effort to deliver,” she vowed.

Meet Kriti Singh Debbarma

Kriti Singh Debbarma, youngest daughter of late king Kirit Bikram Kishore Manikya, is an alumna of Loreto Convent, Shillong. Complementing her education, Kriti pursued diplomas in Environmental Education, Management Appreciation Programme for Voluntary Agencies, and Senior Management & Rural Development in Gujarat. With a penchant for societal upliftment, Kriti’s NGO stint enriched her social development acumen.

Venturing into Madhya Pradesh, Kriti delved into agriculture, specialising in horticulture, organic farming, and indigenous cattle preservation. Her union with Yogeshwar Raj Singh, Kawardha Raj scion, underscores her heritage affinity. Presently, she manages Kawardha’s Heritage Hotel-Palace, showcasing her versatile expertise beyond politics.

Kriti Singh Debbarma’s BJP candidacy signifies the convergence of heritage, education, and public service commitment, epitomising a new dawn in Tripura’s political landscape.
