Imphal: In a resolute address at Hapta Kangjeibung, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh addressed the pressing concerns surrounding the state’s peace, security, and integrity. CM Singh’s stern warning against activities detrimental to Manipur’s well-being served as a focal point, emphasising the government’s commitment to tackling challenges head-on.

The chief minister’s statement was made during the distribution of welfare benefits organised by the Manipur Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (MBOCWWB). This event, held under the Department of Skills, Labour, Employment & Entrepreneurship, became a platform for Singh to connect with the public, conveying a message of unity during challenging times.

Addressing Concerns and Ensuring Security

CM Singh expressed deep concern over recent disturbances that resulted in loss of lives and property. He reassured the public that the government had taken immediate steps to prevent such incidents from recurring. Deployment of state security personnel in vulnerable areas and foothills is already underway, promising a swift and comprehensive response to maintain peace and security.

The strategic shift of Manipur Rifles and IRB battalions to foothill areas indicates a proactive approach, aiming for a return to normalcy. Singh’s emphasis on these security measures provides a sense of reassurance to the public, fostering confidence in the government’s commitment to safeguarding the state.

Welfare Initiatives and Development Projects

During the event, CM Singh commended the welfare schemes initiated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government, underscoring the impact on women and the economically disadvantaged. The allocation of projects worth Rs. 3500 crore for Manipur during the recent launch of initiatives for northeastern states showcases the collaboration between the state and central governments for sustainable development.

Despite challenges, CM Singh highlighted ongoing development projects, including the foundation laying for natural football grounds, Unity Mall, and National Highways. This serves to showcase the government’s unwavering dedication to progress and upliftment, contributing positively to Manipur’s socio-economic landscape.
