Union Home Minister Amit Shah appealed to the people of the country to check the “biodata” of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) before electing a Prime Minister in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, and asserted that their choice will be none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“If you go for interviews, you need to provide the concerned person with your biodata. Similarly, if you are going to elect the Prime Minister of the country, you need to check our biodata; once you do this, your choice will be none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Amit Shah said while addressing a public meeting in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon.

Amit Shah further said that PM Modi has an account of the past 10 years and a vision for the next 25 years.

“Narendra Modiji has an account of the past 10 years and a vision for the next 25 years. He has strengthened the economy of the country. India has emerged as a ‘bright spot’ on the global map. Narendra Modiji, during the past 10 years, inaugurated a university every week; every day we opened two colleges; 55 patients and 600 trademarks were registered every single day; and 1.5 lakh youth availed ‘Mudra loans’ every day,” he said.

“Every day, during the past 10 years, witnessed a new startup; every day, there were 16,000 crores of digital transactions; chemist shops were opened every day; railway tracks were developed every single day; and poor women received gas cylinders every day during the past 10 years,” added the Home Minister.

Amit Shah further attacked the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chief Sharad Pawar and asked him to provide an account of five years of his tenure.

The people of Maharashtra have been bearing Sharad Pawar Sahab for the past 50 years. Forget about 50 years; give an account of five years of your tenure,” he said. Taking a sharp jibe at the Congress party, Shah said that, fearing vote banks, it kept Ram Lalla in tents for years.

“Fearing vote banks, the Congress kept Ram Lalla in a tent for years. Modiji did the Bhoomi Pujan and after the Pran Pratishtha, Ram Lalla was enshrined in the grand temple in Ayodhya,” Amit Shah said.

“Modiji honoured the women of the country by introducing the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan’ Adhiniyam. He abolished ‘triple talaq’; provided free rations to crores of people every day; provided ‘Pakka house’ to over 4 crores of people; and provided free vaccines to the people of the country,” he added.

Launching a fierce attack on the I.N.D.I Alliance, united to take on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Lok Sabha polls, Union Minister Amit Shah said that the ‘Parivaarvadi’ (family-oriented) parties are parts of the ‘Ghamandiya’ alliance.

“The parties that rebel against Modiji are part of the ‘Ghamandiya’ Alliance which comprises ‘Parivaarvadi’ parties. Let me tell you about the I.N.D.I Alliance. In Congress, Sonia Gandhi wants Rahul Gandhi to become the Prime Minister. Uddhav Thackeray wants Aditya Thackeray to become the Chief Minister. Sharad Pawar wants his daughter to assume the post of CM. Mamata Didi wants her nephew to become the CM. Stalin wants to see his son as the CM. Are any of them concerned about you?” Amit Shah said.

“Narendra Modi (Prime Minister) is there for you. He has kept the target of ‘Vikist Bharat ‘ before the 13 crore people of the country,” he added. The Home Minister further said that the coming elections will pave the way towards ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047. “The coming elections will pave the way for the country’s journey towards Vikist Bharat. This is your election, this is the election of the youth of the country; this is the election of the future of the country,” said Amit Shah.

“Voting for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) means voting for a bright future for the youth, shaping this great country and electing Modiji as the Prime Minister for a third consecutive term. Many of you must be voting for the first time. I urge all of you to vote for a party that can help the country achieve the position of ‘Vishwa Guru’,” he added.

He also appealed to the youth to vote for a party that can strengthen democracy in the country.

“Vote for the party that can strengthen democracy. Tell me if the parties, that do not believe in inner democracy, can strengthen the democracy of the country,” said Amit Shah. Throwing light on the BJP’s tenure during the past 10 years, Shah added, “Modiji has worked to secure the country. When the Sonia-Manmohan (Congress) government was in power, there were bomb blasts every second day. Terrorists from Pakistan came here, made explosions and fled away. No reply was given to them.”

“When Modiji came, there were Uri and Pulwama attacks. Within 10 days, we gave a befitting reply to Pakistan. We abolished Article 370, which had been kept pending by the Congress party. Rahul Baba (Congress leader Rahul Gandhi) used to ask me in Parliament not to abolish Article 370, as there would be bloodshed,” he added.

He further said that nobody even dared to ‘burn a pebble’ after the abotition of Article 370.

“Leave bloodshed, nobody even dared to burn a pebble. Modiji has worked to liberate the country from terrorism and Naxalism,” he said.

Amit Shah is on a two-day visit to Maharashtra; he arrived in Maharashtra’s Aurangabad on March 4 night. As the Lok Sabha elections fast approach, Shah’s visit holds strategic importance in the state, which sends 48 MPs to the Lower House, the second highest after Uttar Pradesh with 80 seats.
