Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has said that people in the country have faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantee, which means development. He said this while inaugurating the ‘Kankaria Carnival 2023’ in Ahmedabad on December 25.

“December 25 is the birthday of our former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee. On his birthday, with the inspiration of world leader and respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the whole country has been celebrating Good Governance Day since 2014… Today, people in the country have faith in Modi’s guarantee, which means development,” he said.

Good Governance means the Government working for the poorest of the poorest of the society, the BJP leader said. He further said that in the last nine years, due to good governance, there has been a big change in the development of cities in the country.

“The Prime Minister has given a new look to development through his vision and good governance. People in our cities are happy and the happiness index is high. Smart, sustainable and world-class cities are built. He (PM Modi) has just given the gift of Diamond Bourse to Surat and new projects like River Front Atal Bridge and Japanese Zen Garden to Ahmedabad,” the CM added.

Kankaria Carnival has become a city festival so that the people, especially the labourers, can enjoy it. It has also become a medium for poor children to showcase their talent, Bhupendra Patel said.

“Earlier, the identity of Kankaria Lake was different but the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi changed its face. In the last 14 years, more than 7 crore people have visited Kankaria. It is a perfect example of how urban development should be and how development should happen with urbanisation,” the Gujarat CM said.

A laser show was also organised at the event where some of the Union Government’s schemes, like Mudra Yojna and Startup India were projected.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dreamed of creating a developed India in 2047. Just now he has given 9 resolutions to the countrymen regarding a developed India. Out of these two, let me tell you, one is to save every drop of water and the other is to keep the city and locality clean. Just as we do not like our house being dirty, similarly the street and locality too should be kept clean. I appeal to all the citizens of Ahmedabad to use water as Prasad,” the CM added.
