Ram temple consecration ceremony is scheduled to take place on January 22 next year. To accommodate the influx of pilgrims, tent cities are being erected at strategic locations, ensuring a comfortable and secure stay for the attendees.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust and the Ayodhya Development Authority, in collaboration, are spearheading the construction of these tent cities at key sites such as Majha Guptar Ghat, Bagh Bijesi, and Brahmakund. The initiative aims to provide suitable lodging for the massive turnout expected for the momentous event.
One of the tent cities, situated in Majha Guptar Ghat, is set to sprawl over 20 acres of land, offering accommodations for an estimated 20,000 to 25,000 devotees. Ayodhya Development Authority Secretary, Satyendra Singh, highlighted that the facilities near Brahmakund in Ayodhya Dham will feature 35 large tents, catering to approximately 30,000 devotees. The tent city in Bagh Bijesi, spanning 25 acres, is designed to host around 25,000 people.
Emphasising thoughtful planning for the comfort of the devotees, Singh stated that the tents are being constructed keeping in mind the harsh winter conditions. These tents will provide relief from the biting cold, with arrangements for mattresses and blankets being made to ensure a warm and comfortable stay for the pilgrims. Additionally, Singh disclosed that similar facilities are being established in Karsevak Puram and Maniram Das Cantonment to further accommodate devotees.
Given the magnitude of the event and the anticipated winter chill, the organisers are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring the well-being of attendees. The tent cities will be equipped with essential amenities, including toilets and washrooms, food storage facilities, and medical camps. These provisions are aimed at addressing the diverse needs of the devotees who will be congregating in Ayodhya from different parts of the country and around the world.
The comprehensive arrangements align with the directives of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, underscoring the commitment of the state government to facilitate a smooth and comfortable experience for all attendees. Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to grace the occasion on January 22, adding to the significance of the Ram temple ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony.
In the run-up to the much-anticipated event, the tent cities stand as a testament to the meticulous planning and dedication invested in ensuring that devotees have a memorable and spiritually enriching experience during the consecration ceremony. As Ayodhya transforms into a focal point of religious fervour, these temporary abodes are poised to play a crucial role in accommodating the sea of devotees expected to witness the historic occasion.
