In a shocking incident, a 45-year-old school teacher, identified as Narendra Kumar, was fatally shot near Platform Number 7 foot overbridge at Gaya Junction on Thursday evening. The assailants, who fled the scene, left the community in dismay. The incident was reported to the GRP Thana police upon hearing the gunshots.According to railway sources, the teacher had arrived at Gaya Junction from Sasaram-Dhanbad Intercity Express. The deceased had recently contested the municipal ward council elections.

Providing details, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) P.N. Sahu revealed that the victim, Narendra Kumar, was a resident of Gautam Buddha Colony in the Delha Thana area. He was employed as a teacher in a government school in Aurangabad. The DSP confirmed that he had succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head at the crime scene. The police promptly informed the grieving family about the tragic incident.

The victim’s relatives also reached Gaya Junction, where the GRP Thana police were present to investigate the crime. After the completion of the panchnama, the body was transported to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital for further procedures. According to railway sources, the teacher had disembarked at Gaya Junction from the Sasaram-Dhanbad Intercity Express.

Upon alighting, he proceeded from the foot overbridge towards Platform Number 7. It was during this journey that unknown assailants confronted him and mercilessly fired a gunshot. The police are actively engaged in a thorough investigation of the entire case.

Delha Thana police have taken custody of the body and transported it to his residence in Gautam Buddha Colony. Further information has revealed that the deceased was an activist of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and had recently contested the municipal ward council elections. The motive behind the gruesome incident remains unclear at present.

As the community grapples with the shock of this heinous crime, the police are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for justice. The incident has raised concerns about the safety and security of individuals at busy railway junctions, prompting authorities to review and enhance security measures.

Local residents and colleagues of the victim expressed their grief and disbelief over the senseless act of violence.

The police have intensified efforts to identify and apprehend the culprits responsible for this cold-blooded murder. The railway authorities are also cooperating with the investigation to ensure that such incidents do not recur. The motive behind the attack, whether it was a result of personal enmity or linked to the victim’s political affiliations, remains a subject of intense scrutiny.

As the investigation unfolds, the tragic demise of Narendra Kumar has sent shockwaves through the region, highlighting the urgent need for enhanced security measures at railway stations and other public spaces. The community awaits justice for the grieving family and hopes for swift action against those responsible for this brutal crime.
