The political battle in Rajasthan is heating up, and everyone wants to know who would be the Bharatiya Janata Party’s CM candidate. Airing his views regarding the BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate for the Rajasthan Assembly elections, the Member of Parliament from Jodhpur, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, stated, “Now Prime Minister and Lotus is the face…” indicating that these are the emblematic representatives of the party for the upcoming electoral contest.
The BJP Lok Sabha MP also said that the party’s Parliamentary board and MLAs will decide and select the CM following the elections.
“Later, MLAs and the Parliamentary Board will decide who will be the face… Whoever the face will be, we will ensure that their tenure is successful…,” he added.
The BJP leader expressed confidence that the BJP will form the Government in the State with a full majority.
“…I am sure that the BJP will form a Government with a full majority…,” he said.
Accusing Congress of corruption, the BJP leader said, “This election is being fought over the issue of corruption in Congress…The agencies that work in the war against corruption must be appreciated…Those who are corrupt impose baseless allegations after being caught…”
Bharatiya Janata Party on November 6 released its sixth list of three candidates for the desert State.
The party has fielded Girraj Singh Malinga, a Congress MLA from Bari who joined the BJP on November 5, from Bari.
Deepak Kadvasra will contest from Barmer and Arun Amraram Chaudhary from Pachpadra.
The list was shared by the party’s National General Secretary, Arun Singh, on November 6 morning.
On November 5, supporters of former Rajasthan BJP president Arun Chaturvedi staged a protest at party headquarters in Jaipur after he was denied a ticket when the party released another list of 15 candidates.
The party gave the election ticket to Gopal Sharma from Civil Lines instead of Chaturvedi.
Union Minister and Jodhpur MP Gajendra Singh Shekhawat attempted to pacify the protesters after speaking with them.
On November 5, the supporters of the former BJP Rajasthan unit president, Ashok Parnami also protested after he was also denied a ticket.
The party fielded Ravi Nayyar from Adarsh Nagar instead of Parnami, a former MLA.
The protesting supporters alleged that the party has banned BJP workers.
In another development, BJP expelled its Rajasthan unit leader Sandeep Dayma over his controversial remark on Gurdwaras. The decision to expel Sandeep Dayma was announced by Onkar Singh Lakhawat, the chairman of the Rajasthan BJP’s disciplinary committee.
“Sandeep Dayma has been expelled from the party on the direction of the state president for making a statement against the ideology of the party,” the notification released by the party said on November 5.
In the 2018 assembly elections, the Congress won 99 seats, while the BJP won 73 seats in the 200-member house. Ashok Gehlot came to power with the support of BSP MLAs and independents.
Rajasthan will go to polls on November 25, the counting of which will take place on December 5, along with four other State assembly elections.
