Body of police official who was shot dead by terrorists being carried for last rites

Kashmir police said that injured police personnel, a resident of Wailoo Kralpora was killed by terrorists outside his house on Tuesday.The wreath-laying ceremony was attended by senior police officials and locals.

Following the incident, security officials cordoned off the area and started a search operation. “Injured Police Personnel succumbed to his injuries & attained martyrdom. We pay our rich tributes to the martyr & stand by his family at this critical juncture,” Kashmir police Zone posted on X.

He was shifted to SDH Tangmarg for treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries, as per police.

Mortar shell destroyed in controlled explosion in Samba

A bomb disposal squad of the Jammu and Kashmir police destroyed a mortar shell in a controlled explosion in Basantar River at Samba district on Tuesday.

According to officials, the 84 mm shell was found lying in the field of Dadui village on the Samba-Mansar road late on Monday night.

The mortar shell was immediately seized by the police, and the bomb disposal squad later destroyed it in a controlled explosion.

Jammu and Kashmir: War-like stores recovered in Baramulla, two held

Two suspects were held after war-like stores along with other arms and ammunition were recovered in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla under Operation Dangerpora, an official statement said on Tuesday.

In a post on X, the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army said,” OP DANGERPORA, Baramulla. In a Joint Operation launched by the Indian Army, JK Police, CRPF Srinagar and Intel agencies. Multiple MVIPs were established on 30 Oct at Dangerpora, Baramulla and two suspected individuals were apprehended.”

Indian Army said that one pistol, two hand grenades and other war-like stores were recovered in the operation.
