Kochi: Karma Yogi, R. Hari ji passed away. He was 93 years old. He passed away today at Amrita Hospital in Kochi around 7 am. The Sangha Rishi who filled thousands with the light of idealism and established Sanatana nationalism in life, is departing at the same time, when the Communists are trying to spread darkness in the realm of thought to wipe out everything which is Bharatheeya from the state of Kerala. From the playground of the TD temple, he traveled the world with the flag of Sanghadarshana. His Sangh life started at the age of thirteen.

He travelled to five continents with the message of Sangh. He worked with 5 SarSanghachalaks, Guruji Golwalkar, Madhukar Dattatreya Devares, Prof. Rajendra Singh, K.S. Sudarshan and Dr. Mohan Bhagwat.

Hariji was born on December 5, 1930, T.J. Son of Ranga Shenoy and Padmavati, a native of Tripunithura. R Hariji was the second of eight children. Hari ji had three brothers and four sisters.

He Schooled at St. Albert’s High School and graduated from Maharajas College, Kochi. He got admission in BSAC Chemistry but could not continue after he returned after serving jail time during his studies. He then graduated in Economics and learned Sanskrit separately. After the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, RSS was banned from December 1948 to April 1949. Hariji then served as a satyagrahi in Kannur jail.

After graduation, he became a full-time Sangh worker. He started as a Pracharak in North Paravur, a place near to Kochi. Many sangh assignments came to him later. He took the helm of clandestine operations during the Emergency Period. From 1983 to 1993, he held the title of Kerala Pranta Pracharak, Akhil Bharatiya Saha Boudhik Pramukh in 1990, Akhil Bharatiya Boudhik Pramukh from 1991 to 2005, Sampark Karyakartha of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh in Asia and Australia from 1994 to 2005, and Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal member from 2005 to 2006.

He authored around fifty books in different languages like Sanskrit, Konkini, Malayalam, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil and English languages. He was proficient in Gujarati, Bengali and Assamese languages also. He edited and compiled Sri Guruji’s complete works ‘Guruji Samagra’ which was published in 12 volumes. His last work was a book named Prithvi Sukta: An Ode to Mother Earth which was released recently by Sarsanghachalak Dr Mohan Ji Bhagavat.
