When the people of the state were still in shock following the horrific rape of a minor girl in Mahakal Nagri Ujjain, another shocking incident was reported from another holy city of the town. Once again, an autorickshaw driver has raped a minor. While the accused in the Ujjain rape case is arrested and his house was demolished, Hindu activists following the Omkareshwar rape case hit the streets, demanding a similar action.

As per the reports, the horrifying incident occurred where a 9-year-old tribal girl was subjected to a brutal rape. In response, several Hindu organisations held protests outside the local police station, urging severe repercussions for the perpetrator who is presently in police custody.

As per Khandwa’s Superintendent of Police, Satyendra Kumar Shukla, the authorities have apprehended a man named Javed Mansoori. He stands accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old tribal girl in close proximity to one of the rehabilitation centers in Omkareshwar, Khandwa.

The perpetrator, Mansoori, works as an auto driver and he abducted the girl, subjecting her to two days of torment. The situation came to light when nearby residents heard her cries and promptly alerted the police. Upon her rescue, the girl bravely recounted the harrowing ordeal to the authorities.

Subsequently, charges were filed against Mansoori under the POCSO and SC-ST Acts at the Mandhata police station. Swift action was taken by the police, resulting in Mansoori’s apprehension and his confinement behind bars. Upon hearing the news, various Hindu organisations gathered around the police station, advocating for justice on behalf of the young victim. The police assured them that a speedy trial and punishment would be pursued.

Ujjain Rape Case

On October 4, news of a bulldozer drive taking place and razing the house of the accused made headlines. As per the reports, a team from the municipal corporation arrived with a bulldozer and immediately demolished the illegal construction of the accused upon inspection in the presence of the police.

Bharat, an auto-rickshaw driver, was apprehended in Ujjain for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl who had recently arrived in the city from Satna district, Madhya Pradesh.

On September 26, videos of the shocking incident went viral on social media. It showed a minor girl in torn clothes, bleeding, and begging for help. A CCTV camera on Badnagar Road, about 15 km from Ujjain, captured the girl, draped in rags, going door-to-door, seeking help but is shunned away. The chilling footage, sent shockwaves across the country as she approached the locals one after the other but no one came for help.

The minor girl wandered on streets for hours when she received help from a samaritan. Word of her agony reached an ashram not far from her location. A priest there, sensing that she had been sexually assaulted, draped her in a towel and rushed her to the nearby hospital. The medical examination confirmed the fears: she had been raped.

The girl’s injuries were severe, so she was rushed to Indore for specialised medical care. Police officers volunteered to donate blood when she needed it.

The accused, Bharat, was arrested three days later. The accused attempted to flee while reenacting the crime scene to collect evidence, including torn clothing but was swiftly caught.

“We reached the spot to recover the clothes worn by the girl. Sensing an opportunity, Bharat Soni tried to escape. Police personnel chased and caught him. During this, he fell on a cemented road, injuring his arms and legs,” the police said.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said,”The victim is the daughter of Madhya Pradesh. We will take care of her in every way. She is my daughter, as well as the state’s daughter and we will ensure that the accused gets stringent punishment,” he declared.
