Shiksha Bhushan Samman to be conferred on Prof Meenakshi Jain, Prof Kuldeep Chand and Dr Sanjeevani Kelkar

This year's Shiksha Bhushan Samman will be conferred upon Prof Meenakshi Jain from Delhi, Prof Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri from Himachal Pradesh and Dr Sanjeevani Kelkar from Maharashtra

The prestigious Shiksha Bhushan Samman given annually to three educationists who have done extraordinary and remarkable work in the field of education and social life by the Shaikshik Foundation and Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh will be conferred this year to Prof Meenakshi Jain Delhi, Prof Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri Himachal Pradesh and Dr Sanjeevani Kelkar Maharashtra.

This Samman will be presented by Sarkaryavah of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Dattatreya Hosabale and spiritual guru Swami Chidananda Muni at a grand function to be organised in Nagpur on October 2.

In the program, Organisation Secretary of ABRSM (Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh) Mahendra Kapoor, Co-Organisation Secretary Guntha Laxman, Senior Vice President Mahendra Kumar and teachers of schools and higher education from different States of the country will be present.

It is noteworthy that ABRSM is an organisation of more than 12 lakh teachers from pre-primary to university, working continuously for 35 years inspired by nationalistic ideology. Since 2015, the ABRSM has maintained a tradition of honouring three educationists every year who have done inspirational and remarkable work for education and society with ‘Shiksha Bhushan’ Samman consisting of a silver plate, an amount of Rs one lakh and a certificate of appreciation. For this honour, such educationists from across the country are selected and nominated, who have dedicated their entire life to education and the upliftment of society in the light of the Bharatiya Guru tradition.

A doctor by profession Dr Sanjeevani Kelkar has done exemplary work in developing leadership abilities of poor children of backward communities by distributing educational materials and instilling in them the spirit of education, cleanliness and Karma Yoga.

Dr Sanjeevani Kelkar’s entire life has been dedicated to making children from educationally deprived sections good citizens by providing them with better education. Dr Sanjeevani Kelkar, who considers education to be the basis of life and the life formula for moving from darkness to light, has shown equality in her thoughts and behaviour throughout her life. Sanjivani Kelkar, while participating in the empowerment of rural women, has provided education through the local language (Marathi) to about 12,000 students in economically backward areas. She has also taken the initiative for the construction of tanks for water conservation of capacity for about 45,000 people in areas suffering from water crisis and made proper arrangements for filling water in the tanks.

Dr Meenakshi Jain is a renowned historian of mediaeval and colonial India. Dr Meenakshi Jain a political scientist and historian, who has done subtle and sophisticated work on Ram and his Saket city Ayodhya and a proponent of reformism along with the abolition of Sati practice in colonial India, has written many books. Dr Meenakshi Jain did extraordinary work on the practice of Sati and concluded that the British Government had exaggerated and misrepresented the practice of Sati in India. In 2020, the Government of India honoured Dr Meenakshi Jain with ‘Padmashree’, India’s fourth highest civilian award. Dr Meenakshi Jain has established elemental ideas on Bhartiya vision of life, Bhartiya civilisation and Bhartiya way of thinking.

Pro Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri is a renowned scholar of the history of border and hilly regions. He is a conscious litterateur, a strong seeker of Bhartiya culture, a nationalist thinker, a keen legal expert and a strong advocate of humanity. Pro Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri was imprisoned during the Emergency and also for leading the ‘Liberation of Tibet from China’ movement as the convener of the India-Tibet Cooperation Forum. He has previously done exemplary work as the Chairperson of Ambedkar Chair in Himachal Pradesh University, Director of the University’s Center at Dharamshala and Vice Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh Central University. Till now 16 of his books have been published. Pro Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri has been awarded ‘Sahitya Bhushan Samman’ by the Hindi Institute of Uttar Pradesh, Samman for his literary services by the Central Hindi Institute Agra, ‘Vishnu Prabhakar Award’ by the Government of Madhya Pradesh for the book written on the literature and life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and ‘Vishwa Hindi Samman’ by the Government of India and the Government of Fiji at the World Hindi Conference.
