Delhi Police is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the upcoming G20 summit in Delhi is held in a peaceful manner. At the same time all possible steps ae being taken by Delhi Police to ensure that people do not face any inconvenience.
Delhi Police took to the social media handle X wherein it cleared all doubts with regards to the reports doing the rounds that “Delhi will be bandh” from September 8 to 10. Delhi Police has clearly stated that agencies should not use misleading headlines which will result in confusion in the minds of people.
False claim by “Make My Trip” on Delhi Bandh
Delhi Police took to task travel website “Make My Trip” for sending email to its customers in which it said that “Delhi is Bandh.” Delhi Police issued a clarification stating The email sent out by @makemytripcare falsely claims that Delhi is closed from September 08th to 10th, 2023.
‘Make My Trip’ issued a clarification in which it mentioned, “We acknowledge the concern. What our email meant was that Delhi educational institutions, banks, financial institutions, and most offices will be closed and that movement will be restricted in the New Delhi district. The email may have caused a misunderstanding and is open to misinterpretation. We are immediately sending a clarification to the same email base.”

In order to combat any untoward incidents, there are certain restrictions which the Delhi Police has imposed with regards to the movement and usage of the public transport.

Delhi is not facing ‘lockdown’ during the G20 Summit
Reports are doing rounds that Delhi will face lockdown similar to what had happened during Covid 19. However, Delhi Police has categorically ruled out that a lockdown is being imposed in Delhi.
G20 Summit: Police urge people to avoid walking, cycling near India Gate, Kartavya Path
Delhi Special Commissioners of Police Traffic, SS Yadav said, “We have appealed to the citizens to avoid going out for walking, picnic or cycling in the India Gate or Kartavya Path area.”
India is all set to host the G20 Summit in New Delhi on September 9-10.
In a message to commuters, the Delhi traffic police said that bus and metro services, with partial restrictions, will be available during the mega summit.
“Only New Delhi and NDMC have been included in the controlled zone.
Bus services and metro services will be available. The services at Pragati Maidan and Supreme Court metro station will be affected,” he said, adding that online delivery of essential services will be allowed.
“But, Swiggy, Domino’s food delivery will not be allowed in the New Delhi area,” he added.
The senior official also advised the general public to download the indigenous MapmyIndia app, which will help commuters take alternative routes and reach their destination.
