Recently, a report by the Left-propaganda website ‘The Wire,’ from Delhi’s GTB Enclave area claimed, that members of Hindu organisations like Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad barged into a house and attacked Catholics. The report claimed, that this house was a “Church” and Hindus attacked Christians. Organiser’s investigation revealed that this prayer meeting (Changai Sabha) was organised to lure innocent Hindus to Christianity. What ‘The Wire’ did was just a cover-up story, to accompany the liberals in discarding all the proofs and claims putting illegal Missionary activities under the spotlight.
In this week itself, two cases were reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar, where converted Christians with pastors and others, organised prayer meetings to get Hindus converted. We bring to you the documented details of these cases, exposing the Church’s illegal practices.
Case 1: At Hata police station
On August 20, the native Hindus of the Sukrauli Bazar area in the Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh gathered for a Catholic Prayer meeting. The Hindus complained that they were being bribed and manipulated to convert at these prayer meetings. Copies of the Bible were distributed, houses and accommodations were promised to many, and much more.
Some of the participants happen to be members of a Hindu organisation called, Vishwa Hindu Mahasabha (VHM). These people have been tracking the perpetrators, who have organised multiple prayers in the village. Following this prayer, a complaint was registered at the Hata police station.
Details in the FIR
A First Information Report (number–547/2023) was registered at the Hata Police Station of the Kushinagar district on August 20 by Suresh Gupta, head of the VHM Kushinagar.
In his complaint, Gupta stated that Ravi Kumar native of Kushinagar and Jokhu Prasad, a native of Deoria have been trying to lure innocent Hindus to conversion. He said they organised a prayer meeting called — Changai Sabha — at Poonam Devi’s house in her absence. They used her house to collect Hindus from Sukrauli and nearby areas. The participants were mostly from the scheduled caste and backward class.
Kumar and Prasad told them the perks of becoming a Christian. They distributed cross lockets, then copies of the Bible, and sermons were read out. Later, they told how becoming a Christian can provide them with a better life, a better house, and other perks like money.
Following this complaint, the accused were booked under IPC Section 506 (criminal intimidation) and Sections 3/ 5(1) of the Uttar Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act.
This correspondent called up the Police Station in-charge, Hata, Nirbhay Singh, who said that the FIR had been registered but the accused were absconding.
Gupta said, these prayers had been organised for the past few months but the police did not register a complaint. This time they protested and made sure that an FIR was registered against the culprits.
Case 2: At Kaptanganj Police Station
On August 22, the native Hindus (mostly women) of the Mathauli village of Kushinagar district were present at the meeting. The pastor told people about Jesus and distributed a Bible and cross locket. Such meetings had been taking place for almost one and a half years now. The August 22 meeting created a ruckus as the members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad tried to convince the women to return home as the pastor was brainwashing them.
Instead of listening to the members of VHP, the women abused them and said, “We are free to follow any religion we want, even if it is Christianity.”
What says the FIR?
A First Information Report (number–373/2023) was registered at the Kaptanganj police station of the Kushinagar district on August 22 by Omkar Sharma, the district VHP head.
VHP members got information that some women had gathered in a house in Mathauli Bazar under the Kaptanganj police station. Where some Christian missionary people are converting women on the pretext of prayer meetings. Some workers of Vishwa Hindu Parishad reached the house of Ramchandra Sahni, Ward No. 14, where dozens of women were seated in a closed room in the name of a prayer meeting and attempts were being made to convert religion by Kimo Sahni, Sikandar Kumar, Harendra Prasad and Lala Sahni.
They were offering money to the people and when the VHP members tried stopping they threatened them with a police case. Women clearly said that they could go to any religion. If need be, those people will also go to the church. What do you have to do with people?
What does the complainant say?
Speaking with Organiser, Omkar Sharma said, the conversion racket has been active in parts of Kushinagar since covid lockdown. These pastors and the recent convertees first call the people in the name of curing them (jhaad-phook) and later start asking them to attend prayers. Bibles are distributed, and they are told to join the Church and get money in exchange.
When asked, if those converted dropped their last names or benefits they are entitled to as category citizens of this country, Sharma said no. He said, “A converted man who belongs to the SC community takes benefits of the schemes made for him by the government but calls himself a Christian. This man motivates others from his community to join prayer and follow Jesus”.
The menace is spreading like wildfire and there is no means to control it. The Church is preparing an army of such people who will do anything to protect Jesus. The one they do not even know the meaning of, said Sharma.
Sharma said, “We are trying to meet families and convince them. The Catholics have the support of the Church and funding, What do we say to Hindus, so that they do not leave Sanatn Dharma? Still, we will organise Hanuman Chalisa Path in areas and get back those who have been misguided and manipulated by the Missionary people”.
The Police Action
Following the FIR by Sharma, the police booked as many as five accused including a woman and arrested them all. They have been identified as, Kimmo, Sikander, Harendra, Guddi and Ram Chandra Sahni.
All of them have been booked under IPC sections 143 (unlawful assembly), 504 (intentionally insulting), 506 (criminal intimidation) and sections 3 and 5(1) of the Uttar Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act.
A similar case was reported from the Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh on August 22. In the Baresar Police Station area, people gathered for one such prayer meeting. In the name of treatment, money, jobs and money these people started converting to Christianity. As soon as members of the Hindu organisation learned about the gathering, they nabbed the organisers and handed them over to the police.
Organiser spoke with the National Spokesperson of the VHP, Vinod Bansal after the Delhi Church Scuffle. He said, “The Missionary Conversion is rampant in the country, anyone and everyone opposing it will have to face the repercussions.”
Targeting, the propaganda news portal ‘The Wire’ he said, “Portals like The Wire and their likes have always been there to whitewash the activities by groups working against Sanatan Dharma. It is not their fault, they are just running their narrative, We should be the ones bringing the truth out”.
Notably, with revelations made in this case, the nefarious agenda of the Missionary stands exposed. No matter how much it is getting whitewashed by the other media outlets. Apart from controlling these cases, there should be a call for the delisting of all those who have converted and are still taking benefits of the schemes and policies.
