Following the landing of the Chandrayaan-3 moon mission at 6:04 PM today, ISRO Chief S Somnath said, “India is now on the Moon!” People all over the country celebrated the historic occasion.

ISRO Chief S Somanth said, “The PM congratulated all of us and said that he would like to personally come down and congratulate each one of us. ISRO’s next mission is Aditya L-1 mission, which is getting ready at Sriharikota: ISRO chief S Somanath on Chandrayaan-3 success.”

On the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “Successful soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 is a powerful display of capabilities and power of new India. Under the Prime Minister’s visionary leadership and guidance, ISRO scientists did what no one could do. Moon’s south pole was impossible for the world until now, but our visionary scientists have made it possible. With the pure emotion of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, I congratulate all the scientists of ISRO and greetings to the nation for this success.”

The scheduled timing for the soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the moon’s south pole on August 23, 2023 (Wednesday), was 18:04 IST, with the powered descent of Vikram lander at 1745 IST.ISRO had been releasing a series of up-close images of the moon, assisting the lander module in determining its position (latitude and longitude) by matching them against an onboard moon reference map.
