There is a significant rise in the cases of religious conversions, be it on the part of women or men, the rate is somewhat equal. If a woman gets lured into a relationship by a Muslim man, hiding his identity and following other ways to get her, we call it love jihad. However, there is a list of cases where Hindu men, in relationships with Muslim women have met a similar fate. They either get forced to convert, or threatened and even worse cases have been reported over the years.

Today we bring to you a similar story of a man from Bihar’s Siwan district, where a man named Shravan became Mohammad Shail, under the influence of his friends (all Muslims), a few years ago. He started offering Namaz, grew a beard, lived a Muslim life, and much more. Now, he puts a tilak on his forehead, covers himself in a saffron scarf, and is again identified as Shravan.

His story matches the plot of the film, ‘The Kerala Story’. This story was originally done by the Hindi daily, Dainik Bhaskar (DB). All the contents presented in this report have been taken from the Hindi version, accessible here.

Shravan fell in love with Rozi Khatun

Shravan and his family is originally from Harpur village of the Gopalganj district. His father, an electrician by profession, faced a work crisis there. Hence, they moved to Siwan. They started living in the Mairwa area and Miskahi colony in Siwan. Some years later, Shravan’s father moved to Oman, while Shravan, his mother and brother were left behind. They lived in a rented place.

During the tough pandemic time, Shravan met Rozi Khatun, who lived a few meters ahead of his house. The two fell in love, and soon their families learned about the affair. While Rozi’s family were ignorant about the relationship, Shravan’s mother was totally against the alliance. However, Shravan was madly in love with her, and was ready to do anything and everything she wanted.

He told DB, “Rozi used to love me a lot but she would keep talking about Islam and how and better it is than Hindu Dharma. She once said, the only barrier between the two of us is your religion”.

On December 25, 2022, Shravan left his house and moved to Delhi. He did not inform his family about his whereabouts but was constantly in touch with Rozi, who kept motivating him to come to Islam.

Shravan met Muslim friends in Delhi who told him about ‘Butparasti’

After looking for a job for days, Shravan finally got a job as a carpenter in the Loni area. The place where he worked had mostly Muslim employees. Soon, they started influencing and making him feel inferior about Sanatan Dharma.

In his statement to DB, Shravan said, “All the Muslims working there started influencing me, they would say that Hindus worship But (idol), which cannot even kill a fly, how can this be justified”

They kept discussing Islam and which changed Shravan from the inside out. He started believing in them.

Shravan became Sahil

He started visiting the mosque with his new friends, they taught him how to offer Namaz. He also borrowed a Hindi-translated book from the Mosque, where he learned things about Islam. The Mosque he used to go to hosted hundreds of Namazis, and Shravan started visiting it more frequently.

Later, he grew a beard, started wearing Kurta Paijama, and almost looked like a cleric, he says, it was hard to believe that he had just become Muslim. He was brainwashed to the extent that he forgot about his family and became a full-time Namazi.

Rozi ditched Shravan upon conversion

Shravan told DB that, Rozi kept asking him to convert to Islam in order to be with her. However, when he finally became a Namazi, she ditched him and married another man. His life was falling, the woman for whom he changed his religion left him, like anything. As if all she wanted was for him to get converted to Islam.

It’s all a conspiracy

Shravan says, that after what Rozi did to him, he still tried to protect her. She ditched him, she stopped taking his calls and stopped admitting that she ever loved him. Still, Shravan protected her for so long.

After the news of his conversion went viral, a case was registered against Rozi and others of manipulating Shravan to conversion.

However, Shravan posted a video, in which he claimed that he converted on his own and that Rozi had nothing to do with it. In the video, he said, he changed his name to Sahil.

Notably, the police nabbed him from the Lalit bus stand and presented him before the court, in court, he said, “I was manipulated by many people, and under their influence, I accepted Islam”.

Sahil to Shravan again

Now that Rozi and the case was over, Shravan decided that he would return back to Sanatan Dharma. In his journey back to Sanatan Dharma, his mother, brothers and Hindu activists have played a vital role. They took him to Saryu ghat, where his beard was cut, his head was shaved, and then to took a bath in the pious waters of Saryu. Upon Shuddhi, he was again pronounced Hindu and named Shravan.

Now that he has converted back to Hindu Dharma, the family is receiving multiple threat calls. They want him to revert back to Islam.

However, he says, his conversion was done as per a bigger scam where Islamists are working towards converting the coming Hindu generations. Their love, their allurement, their claims, all are false. They (The Muslims) are doing this as per an agenda to convert gullible Hindu people, said Shravan.
