Government should crackdown on those foreign-funded NGOs involved in converting Hindus, demanded Bharatiya Jansewa Sansthan in its annual function organised in New Delhi on August 13. Swami Vigyananand ji, Joint General Secretary, Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), was the chief guest and Sudhanshu Trivedi, MP (Rajya Sabha) and National Spokesperson, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was the chief speaker in this function. The event was organised by Manohardas Gujarati, Sudhansu Mohan Patnaik, Sameer Panda and other executive members of BJS.
On the occasion Swami Vigyananand said, “When Portuguese came to Bharat, Hindu community shifted their resources, including deity and temples at other places and continued to fight against them. This happened only because Hindu community was self-dependent. So, Hindu community must not depend on Government for resources. Being self-dependent is the only solution to tackle the foreign funded NGOs and other forces, who are eyeing on Hindu community for conversion. Not just restriction, rather completely stopping foreign-funding in NGO activities, by declaring it illegal, is better.”
While pointing out the role of foreign funding to Missionaries, Swami Vigyananand appealed to the Government to take more steps to rein in these evil forces by scrutinise their funding source and its use, which are not just converting innocent Hindus in a deceitful way, but also harming the national interest.
Sudhanshu Trivedi said, “ I remember, in 1993, in the same year when BJS was formally registered; on the occasion of 100 years of speech of Swami Vivekanand ji in Chicago, was celebrated in the United States by the Hindu community, but no political leader of the US attended the event. But, today, we saw Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the US Congress and was unprecedentedly welcomed by the US. Why this happened? This happened because of the Hindu community, who has become stronger today.”
Noting that after coming to power, Modi Govt. sent notices to NGOs and trusts who had not filed Income Tax Returns for more than 5 years, Dr Trivedi said. Then Govt sent reminder after reminder and at the end many foreign funded NGOs registration was cancelled. Can you believe, after receiving more than 900Cr of foreign funding; one NGO had not submitted even utilisation certificate. And if you see the fund utilisation, you’ll be surprised that bill of beauty parlour, chocolate in five-star hotel has been produced.”
“When Kar sewa started and disputed structure was demolished, interestingly during the same period we became an open economy and our growth started. When Supreme Court’s judgement on Sri Ram Mandir came in 2019, we became 5th largest economy in 2020. Now when temple will be opened for devotees, we will be the 3rd largest economy soon,” said Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi while pointing out the importance of Sri Ram temple in Ayodhya.
“We work in the remotest villages in Bharat, where the Govt. machineries are not able to make an impact. Our academic service has about 1532 projects covering 906 Schools, 355 Child Development Centres, 46 hostels, 225 libraries etc. We also run 232 Health Centres and save people from quacks and thugs. Spirituality plays a vital role for the all round development and about 71,871 devotees have been benefited by our spiritual programs,” said BJS President Manohar Gujarati.
