In one of the most startling revelations, it has been found by the Special Investigation Committee that one of the major causes of the Nuh violence was a fake announcement made by the Imam Fajru Miyan from the mosque. In the probe it has been found that on July 31, after the 1 p.m namaz, Fajru Miyan announced from the mic that shops of Muslims were being plundered by the Hindus.
The Islamists panicked, thereby resulting in one of the worst communal flare ups. Fajru announced that the Hindus who were participating in the shobha yatra were looting the shops of the Muslims near the Nalhar Temple.
The Islmist mob, in a fit of rage, burnt the vehicles so that the devotees who had come to worship at the temple could not escape.
One of the SIT members stated that it was the announcement that was made by the Imam which unleashed rage among the villagers and groups of men who were already enraged over the videos that were released on social media platforms.
Soon after the announcement, the same message was circulated by various Imams in different What’s App groups.
Nuh Violence – CM Khattar called for stringent action against the perpetrators
The videos that emerged on the social media platforms clearly indicated that the violence by the fundamentalist Islamists was orchestrated at the behest of anti-Indians. Chief Minister of Harayan, Manohar Lal Khattar issued a statement in which he had said that stringent action would be taken against those who were involved in the violence.
More than 200 people have been arrested with regards to their alleged involvement in the violence. The administration also bulldozed at least 250 illegal shanties from where the attack was carried out at the Shobha Yatra. Also more than 50 shops of the Islamists who were involved in the violence were razed. The administration also bulldozed the house from where stones were pelted.
According to the reports that have emerged in the media, women expressed their ordeal and told how the Islamists were firing from the hilltop and had also asked the Hindu women to remove their identity.
It has also been reported that women were dragged in the farmlands and the Islamists misbehaved with them.
In one of the worst communal clashes in Haryana’s Nuh, two home guards had lost their lives and several others were injured. Four other people were killed. Violence had spread to nearby cities of Gurugram and Faridabad also.
In order to stop the spread of misinformation and rumours, the internet was suspended for more than two weeks and schools and colleges were asked to close down.
