Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader P Jayarajan while addressing a gathering threatened the workers of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) and added that they would be sent to mortuary if they raised their hands against state Assembly Speaker A.N. Shamseer.

Jayarajan’s threat to the BJYM workers came as a response to the speech of BJYM state secretary K. Ganesan. BJYM leader stated, Speaker insulted Hindu Gods, thanks to his confidence that he would not face the fate Prof. T.J. Joseph had.

It is to be remembered that PFI terrorists had chopped Prof. P.J. Joseph’s hand, on July 4, 2010, in connection with a question paper he had prepared for the students. Fundamentalists alleged that the question paper was a blasphemy against Islam.

BYM leader made the above reference in a protest march carried out against A.N. Shamseer’s speech before an assembly of school teachers that Ganapaty, Pushpak vimana (aeroplane depicted in Ramayana) and births of Kouravas are mere myths and the Hindu myths are stumbling blocks to progress. He said, these myths are not good for the age of Artificial Intelligence.

Hindu myths spread superstitions hence should be rejected. But, he made it a point not to comment anything against the myths in Islam which he belongs to and Christianity. (Apparently, a Mother Superior of a Christian congregation, who is also the manager of a reputed Christian educational institution in Kochi, was on the dais).

On the other hand, on previous occasions, of course, before taking over as the Speaker, he had praised the virtues of Islam, remember the observers.

BJP and Hindu organisations protest against P Jayarajan’s death threats

BJP and Hindu organisations have already come out with strong protests against P. Jayarajan’s death threats. BJP state president K. Surendran said that CPM leader P. jayarajan had, in the past, sent hundreds of RSS and BJP workers, including Jayakrishnan Master to mortuary.

He is accused in many murder cases and is now trying to destroy the peace in the state. BJYM workers are not afraid of him. He had feigned chest pain when the CBI summoned him for interrogation. He cannot scare BJP or RSS. Jayarajan’s threat is a message that his party is not ready to give up violence. CPM, being in power, is unleashing violence. BJP would organise masses to fight it.

Surendran demanded an unconditional apology from Shamseer for insulting Hindus’ faith. He alleged that the CPM-led government sponsored anti-Hindu forces; that is why, Muslim League men raised death threat slogans, against Hindus, in Kanhangad, Kasargod, on July 25.

BJP president demanded that a case must be filed against Jayarajan for the threats against BJYM workers. He also demanded that the government remove him from the position of Vice Chairman of Khadi Board.

P Jayarajan is a prominent leader of CPM and its State Committee Member. Formerly he was party’s Kannur district committee secretary as well as MLA from the district. There are allegations that he had played a major role in political violence in the district.
