On June 28, 2023, a researcher named Chao Shao from the Wuhan Institute of Virology has made a claim that the Corona Virus was made and engineered by the Peoples Republic of China as a bioweapon. He and his colleagues were given four strains of the Virus to find out which was more deadly and effective.

In an interview, Chao and Jennifer Zeng, a member of the International Press Associations, made the shocking revelations. The IPA provides first-hand information and unique insights about China and its Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

In the twenty-six minutes interview, Chao Shao from the Wuhan Institute of Virology admits his superior giving him four strains of coronavirus and asked him to test and find out how easy it was to affect living species, especially humans and also possess a greater ability to infect.

The researcher also claims that in 2019, several of his colleagues went missing during the Military World Gains in Wuhan. Later, it was revealed that they were sent to hotels where athletes from various countries to check health and hygiene conditions. As checking does not include and requires virologists, Chao suspected that they were sent to spread the virus.

Furthermore, in April 2020, Chao further revealed that he was sent to Xinjiang to check the health status of the Uyghurs who were imprisoned in re-education camps so that they could be released sooner. Once again, checking does not require a virologist; he strongly implied that he was sent to either spread the virus or how it affected humans,” Chao says in the interview.

The above shocking information was disclosed to the interviewee, this is just a small piece of the entire puzzle So far, the true origin of the pandemic that has caused seven million deaths worldwide is still under exploration. The interview was conducted by Jennifer Zeng, a Chinese-born human rights activist and author.

According to a report by the US Director of National Intelligence, the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) is not a biological weapon. Some reports say that there is no evidence that COVID-19 was a biological weapon. Scientific evidence suggests that the COVID-19 virus spilt over from animals to people. It is 96 per cent genetically identically found in horseshoe bats.

Although Beijing has never admitted that it developed any sort of biological weapons programme, in the past, China had produced biological weapons that include weaponized Richtin, Botulinum toxins, and causative agents for anthrax, cholera, plague and tularemia and violated the Biological Weapons Convention of 1972 that declares that development, stockpiling, production of bioweapons as a war crime.

Historically some of the deadliest pandemics in the past have come from China, such as the Black Death that ravaged and took a toll of 200 million lives in Africa, Asia, and Europe (1346-1353 AD). The 1918 influenza, or the Spanish Flu, originated in China.

It is worth noting that there are two military centres where bioweapons are produced, One is in Beijing, and the other is in Lingbao, Henan Province. The Chinese PLA Fifth Institute of the Military Medical Sciences has a long history of working on bioweapons and coronaviruses.

Biological agents can cause public health challenges and can pose a significant public health challenge. Agents which are capable of secondary transmission can lead to epidemics. Biological Weapons come under the category of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) The most widely used term to denote such weapons is the CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Weapons).

If such weapons are within reach or the grasp of terrorists, a phenomenon of bioterrorism will be unleashed, causing a fatal number of deaths and destruction of humans, living beings and the environment at large.

In the Indian context, with the existence of China and Pakistan, the threat from biological weapons and warfare becomes more eminent and cannot be ruled out entirely.
