In a bizarre incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly district, a 3-year-old Hindu boy was circumcised without his parent’s approval in M Khan hospital. Shocked parents learned about the fraud after their child was shifted to the normal ward. No FIR, in this case, has been registered so far.

Harimohan Yadav with his wife Parul Yadav reached M Khan Hospital on June 22 with their 3-year-old son. They were there to take tests for the speech ailment of their son. Within no time the authorities admitted the child and later circumcised him.

When Harimohan protested, the hospital administration threatened him, and they also tried assaulting him, later with the help of local Hindu activists and media the case was highlighted.

The Bareilly police instituted an investigating team in this case.

In the complaint letter presented by Harimohan to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Bareilly, he informed that he is a resident of the Sanjay Nagar area which falls under the Baradari police station area. On June 23, when reached the SSP office his son was already circumcised.

Harimohan’s son cannot speak clearly and hence the doctors suggested him to take an operation wherein they will remove a part of his son’s tongue. However, the doctors performed his circumcision (Khatna).

He alleged that the administrator of the hospital believed in Islamic fanaticism and has conducted the circumcision to convert the child to Islam. The hospital has forcefully converted the child to Islam.

When the victim questioned Mohammad Javed, the doctor who performed the circumcision, he abused him and also asked him to keep his mouth shut or get ready to face the consequences.

One of the staff doctors named, Dr Fassil has also threatened the victim’s family, he also issued death threats for not taking the case back.

The victim and family want action to be taken against the M Khan Hospital and its administrators who are illegally converting Hindus to Islam.

By the time this report was published, no FIR in this case was registered by the Bareilly police. Organiser will update the details with progress in the case.

On June 24, Harimohan told Organiser that, almost 9 years ago he took his wife Parul to the same hospital for the treatment of speech ailment. The doctors cured her properly and hence when it came to his son, he brought him to this hospital only.

After the basic check-up, the hospital authorities asked him to deposit a sum of rupees 4,000 as advance and the remaining 2,000 were to be paid after treatment.

He said the doctor is a Muslim, half of the staff in the hospital is Muslim, they believe in Islamic fanaticism and for this they chose his son. “I don’t want any of this to happen with other Hindus ever and hence the hospital needs to be shut down and the administrators should be arrested,” he added.

Organiser also informed the National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) about the case after which the commission issued a notice to the SSP demanding action in the case.

The NCPCR chairperson, Priyank Kanoongo from his Twitter handle informed, “In Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly district, a complaint has been received that Dr. Javed Khan performed a wrong operation on a child and circumcised him without the permission of the child and the parent. Has been Notice is being given by @NCPCR_ to @bareillypolice to take action.”

Notably, the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Brajesh Pathak taking cognizance of the matter stated that strict action will be taken against the administrators of the hospital.

Pathak wrote from his official Twitter account, “Taking cognizance of the case related to circumcision instead of operation of the child’s tongue in M.Khan Hospital of Bareilly district, I have sent a team of health department along with ACMO to investigate the case and if the complaint is found correct, the hospital management and Orders have been given to the CMO, Bareilly, to register an FIR against the guilty doctor, to cancel the registration of the said hospital with immediate effect, and to make the complete report of the proceedings available within 24 hours. The said hospital will also be sealed on the basis of the report of the investigation.”

On the other hand, the doctor said, “The woman who works here is a neighbour of Ward Aaya. She brought the kid on Sunday. She knows what was the problem with the child. The child had problems related to urine. This is called phimosis disease. The cure for that disease is circumcision. It has nothing to do with religion.”

SP City Rahul Bhati said that the family had taken their two-and-a-half-year-old son for tongue surgery at Dr M Khan Hospital located under the Baradari police station area. There the baby has been circumcised instead of tongue operation. An application has been received in this regard. A committee has been formed to examine the application.

Notably, this is not the first time Islamists have circumcised Hindu children in Uttar Pradesh.

One such case came to light from the Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh where a Muslim couple illegally adopted a Hindu child and got him circumcised.

The minor child, Sonu, was circumcised by Umar and Babli after a middleman Zulfikar helped them with the illegal adoption. It was only after Zulfikar’s neighbour Rajesh posted a video of the child talking about his circumcision and physical abuse by Umar and Babli, that the Ghaziabad police took action.

Another case within a month of Sonu’s circumcision came to light from the same city, Ghaziabad, where a Hindu woman got married to a man who introduced himself as a Hindu named Guddu. After marrying him she found he was a Muslim named Sablu. Within a month of their marriage, Sablu got her son circumcised, after which the woman left him and filed a case against him.

A similar case from reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur district in 2021 where a Sikh woman entered into a relationship with one Mohammad Mehfooz after the death of her husband.

When the marriage was fixed, Mehfooz’s family put a condition as per the two sons of this Sikh woman would have to undergo circumcision before the nikah. When the circumcision ritual was being carried out, Hindu residents of the village learnt about it and informed the police. The police filed a case under Juvenile Justice act against the man and his family.

A similar case was reported from Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur district where a 6-year-old boy was circumcised by neighbour Mansoor Khan and his son Faizu. Faizu took the child home while playing, at his house Mansoor instructed Faizu to circumcise the boy. A case was registered at the Kharmaria police station in Jabalpur on 23 March 2022.
