Unity, strength and discipline among the Indian youth will open the door to wealth, knowledge, spiritualism and ultimately to a strong and prosperous country. India is surrounded by some unpredictably dangerous neighbours who want to grab our land, convert people’s faith, and split India into many pieces again. Being physically weak is a crime in the present situation. In the Treta Yug, the demons swallowed saints and seers because the Kshatriya power was waning. Lord Rama came and revived the Kshatriya power to save the weak and the innocent people.

The revival of Kshatriya’s power had let governance and spiritualism thrive in the country again. In the later age, the Kshatriya power fought among one another; foreign invaders used one against another to decimate the Kshatriya power. The British systematically paralysed the Kshatriya power by offering them luxury items, wine and women. They took their kingdom, gave them a stipend and allowed them to live in luxury in solitary confinement. The Kshatriya lost their war skill, strength and courage. The revival of the Kshatriya power will make India strong and prosperous. Anybody can become a Kshatriya if he adopts the Kshatriya dharma of protecting the weak and vulnerable people. There is no need to fight with a sword; they can use their intellect, courage and the country’s laws to protect the weak and the vulnerable people.

To groom sports talents and revive the Kshatriya power, the Modi Government has launched Khelo India and formulated a gamut of schemes like the National Sports Talent Scheme, National Sports Talent Contest Scheme, Sai Training Center Scheme, Special Area Game Scheme, Center of Excellence Scheme and Come and Play Scheme etc. to trigger sportsman spirit; India’s recent achievements in the Olympic and the Commonwealth games is the result of these initiatives. India can take the achievement to a new height.

A community playground for every 2000 families living in urban and semi-urban areas will give access to children from poor and middle-class families; they could nurture their sports talent. Every five Indian villages should necessarily have one community playground. If people come together and play, it will create bhaichara among people; the villages will be safe for social, economic and cultural development. Good health will boost economic activities and bring prosperity.

Efforts should be made to clean the water bodies with people’s participation. Beautiful and clean water bodies can be used for swimming at a far lower cost; swimming can build strength and stamina among the youth. It will allow the young swimmers to practice swimming at a far lower cost. The Olympic game gives nearly 108 medals in various swimming events, and a single swimmer can win up to eight medals in the game. India’s rivers, rivulets, lakes and ponds can be used for young swimmers to practice before they go for professional training.

In their daily one-hour activity, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Shakhas teach Surya Namaskar, self-defence and various indigenous games, building strength and moral courage among the youth. The youth should come to the ground with a mission to develop strength and bhaichara among religions, castes and language groups. The safety of the republic is of paramount importance.

Fifty years back, the temple town Puri had hundreds of Jagaghars (wrestling dens) where the local youth used to learn this sport. Today the Jagaghars have almost disappeared. The local wrestlers used to protect Lord Jagganath temple and its culture from enemy attack. Similarly, the ancient city of Cuttack was once the hub of indigenous games. Wrestling, weight lifting, swimming, football and hockey, etc., were organised regularly. Today children attend coaching classes or are glued to computers, TV and Smartphones. The state of Odisha can revive these traditional sports in the state. Running, swimming, jumping, throwing, discus, archery, javelin, kabaddi, volleyball and handball etc., are low-cost games which should be promoted for the physical development of our youth.

India’s rich crop diversity will meet the nutrition needs of people; it will improve the strength and stamina of the youth. Crop diversity in tribal areas gives extraordinary strength and stamina to tribal athletes who compete at the highest level. People with physical strength, courage and discipline can build a strong country.
