The Commissioner of the Aligarh division, Navdeep Rinwa, laid the foundation stone of the first ‘Hardware Park’ which is made under the PLEDGE (Promoting Leadership and Enterprises for Development of Growth Engine) scheme of Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh Government on June 13. This park will be constructed at GT Road Bhakri near Khaymai Gabhana industrial area in Aligarh district, UP. The foundation stone was laid by performing the Bhoomi Poojan and was attended by District Magistrate Indra Vikram Singh, MLA Anil Parashar, and other officers and entrepreneurs.

The park is said to be the state’s first of its kind, with an aim to promote private industries and investment. The Commissioner stated, “The upcoming Hardware Park is part of the ambitious plan of state Government aimed at promoting private industries. The state cabinet had approved this scheme on January 28 this year, and sanction was received for the park in Aligarh by the end of March. It was inaugurated today, reflecting how the state Government is committed to industrial growth”.

Rinwa claimed,“The scheme envisages development of private industries within 10 to 50 acres of land for which Rs 50 lakh per acre loan is made available at the rate of one per cent. The beneficiary has been provided with the first instalment of Rs 3.50 crore for infrastructural requirements. This will attract more investment at this first Hardware Park under the PLEDGE scheme of the state”.

According to DM Indra Vikram Singh, the State Government’s promise programme is nothing short of a blessing for business owners and investors in the private sector who wish to expand their industrial park. The state Government will provide infrastructure construction funds and exempt business owners in the land registry who locate their industries in industrial parks.
He noted that after signing an MOU with the owner of the land, local industrialist Rakesh Agarwal, the Hardware Park in Aligarh was established within 13 days.

The Joint director of industries, Virendra Kumar Agarwal, said that Rakesh Agarwal, to whom Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently gave a cheque for Rs 3.50 crore at an event in Lucknow, will receive financial support totalling Rs 7 crore.

According to MLA Anil Parashar, the industrial park built under the PLEDGE scheme will open up new opportunities for MSMEs. This will be a boon for industries as 110 industrial plots have been marked for various enterprises, and each plot is 500 to 800 square yards.

Last month in May, CM Yogi Adityanath announced the setting up private industrial parks in Aligarh, Saharanpur and Kanpur Dehat districts under the PLEDGE scheme.

While speaking at the check distribution ceremony for developing a private industrial park under the scheme, CM Yogi said,” Six years ago, nothing could happen in UP, but today the same state is presenting its potential in front of the country and the world through its innovative schemes. The ‘PLEDGE Scheme’ is a part of the same series”.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also said that in order to promote Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), a new authority will be set up to frame policies to make waterways accessible and cheaper for the transportation of goods.

CM stated, “We have inherited hundreds of years of heritage. There are 96 lakh MSME units in the state, but they are dying due to a lack of encouragement, design, technology, packaging and promotion. Due to this, the artisans kept on migrating for a long time. I remember the good work done by the MSME sector during the Covid period when 40 lakh labour migrants came back who were absorbed by the MSMEs. UP has now become an export hub worth Rs.2.5 lakh crore”.

UP CM Yogi also pointed out that the encouragement of private investment and traditional enterprise is required to meet the needs of the large population of UP. He added, “All the big entrepreneurs of the country and the world came to Lucknow with investment proposals of Rs 35 lakh crore in the UP Global Investor Summit held this year. This investment will become the biggest medium to provide employment to one crore youth. MSMEs will become the base of these big industries”.
