The Ved Van Park is 99 per cent completed and is planned to open in June. This park is based on Hindu scriptures Vedas. The Ved Van Park is located in Sector 78, Noida, in Uttar Pradesh. The construction work is done on 12 acres of land.
The project is estimated to be built for around Rs 27 crore, and it is lauded as the first park themed on the Hindu scriptures. The park will be adorned with the writings written in the four Vedas—the Rigveda, Atharvaveda, Yajurveda and Samaveda through wall paintings and laser shows.
Indu Prakash Singh, Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Noida authority, said, “The Vedvan theme-based park is devoted to Indian scriptures and the saints who wrote these scriptures. The objective is to give residents or visitors an opportunity to understand old scriptures and how these writings can have a positive impact on our lives. The decision on which saints to be included is yet to be taken.”
The park will also have different varieties of medicinal plants and fruit-bearing trees. Last year only in 2022 the Noida Authority planted 25,000 plants. There would be 50000 plants, and the authorities have ensured traditional plants and trees such as banyan, kalpavriksha, coconut and neem are planted.
It was reported the construction was started in 2021 but got delayed because soil compaction was done to hold the structure in a better way. Vandana Srivastava, OSD Noida Authority, said, “The land was a dump yard earlier, and to make it suitable for developing a park, soil compaction was performed, which took some time. To enhance the quality of the plants, the soil was also loosened, after which the trees were replanted. The park will open soon for the public.”
Vandana Srivastava added, “The park will be divided into seven zones named after the sages of the Vedic age like Kashyap, Bharadwaj, Gautam, Atri, Vasishtha, Vishvamitra and Agastya. Information on the Indian sages and the holy scriptures will be displayed”.
In addition, the park has been built with an amphitheatre and outdoor gym that will be powered by solar energy. According to officials, the park will serve residents of housing societies in sectors 74 to 79 as well as those from other nearby communities.
