Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to file defamation case against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his tweet linking the CM with the Adani group. The Assam CM Said -we will meet in the Court of Law. Replying to the tweet of Rahul Gandhi, which linked top BJP leaders to the Adani group business, the Assam CM said, “It was our decency to have never asked you, on where have you concealed the proceeds of crime from the Bofors and National Herald Scams.

And how you allowed Ottavio Quattrocchi to escape the clutches of Indian justice multiple times. Anyway, we will meet in the Court of Law.”

At a press conference in Guwahati on April 9, CM Sarma said that the defamation case would be filed after Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Guwahati on April 14. CM Sarma termed the tweet by former MP Rahul Gandhi “defamatory” and said that he would not respond to it at this time due to the preparations for the arrival of Prime Minister Modi in Guwahati for the occasion of Bohag Bihu on April 14. PM Modi will grace a huge Bihu celebration in Guwahati where more than 10000 Bihu dancers will perform together, aiming for a Guinness world record.

However, once the Assam visit concludes, there will be a defamatory case filed against Rahul Gandhi, CM Sarma added.

On April 8, Rahul Gandhi reiterated his allegations against the Adani Group and suggested that Congress leaders switching to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were a mere distraction.

On the other hand, CM Sarma also stated that he is waiting for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s invitation. “I am still waiting for the invitation from Arvind Kejriwal. I want to demystify Kejriwal’s statement that 12 lakh jobs were provided to unemployed youths in Delhi when the sanctioned Government posts are only 1.5 lakhs in the national capital,” CM Sarma added.

On April 2 in Guwahati, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal claimed he had provided as many as 12 lakh jobs to unemployed youths in New Delhi in the last eight years of his tenure.
