For almost a month now, the Punjab police started a massive crackdown against Khalistani extremists in Punjab including the absconding leader Amritpal Singh. Since hundreds of Sikh youths supporting the idea of Khalistan were arrested, there have been protests all around the globe.

Shocking visuals of violent pro-Khalistani supporters have emerged from the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and the United States. Yet another video of Khaistani extremists abusing and manhandling a journalist surfaced from Washington DC.

On March 26, news agency ANI shared a video with the caption:

“Khalistanis physically and verbally assaulted journalist Lalit K Jha outside Indian Embassy in Washington DC”.

(Alert: Abusive language used in the video)

In this video, extremists can be seen using abusive language against the prime minister of India, Narendra Modi. These people also used foul language against the journalist shooting the video.

The journalist recording the video has been identified as, Lalit K Jha. Jha is a journalist associated with news agency Press Trust of India (PTI).

Jha told ANI, “At one point I felt so threatened that I called 911. I then spotted Secret Service officers and narrated the incident to them”.

“The pro-Khalistan protestors in support of Amrit Pal waved Khalistan flags and descended upon the embassy in the presence of the US Secret Service. They even openly threatened to vandalize the embassy and threatened the Indian Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu,” Jha added.

Jha also Tweeted the same video from his account quoting, “Thank you @SecretService 4 my protection 2day 4 helping do my job, otherwise I would have been writing this from the hospital. The gentleman below hit my left ear with these 2 sticks & earlier I had to call 9/11 & rushed 2 police van 4 safety fearing physical assault”

After the video of the incident went viral on social media, the US State Department spokesperson told ANI, “The United States condemns the attack against the Indian Consulate and any attack against diplomatic facilities within the United States. We pledge to defend the safety and security of these facilities as well as the diplomats who work within them”.

Not the first time that Pro-Khalistani activists turned violent

Last week, Amid rising pro-Khalistani protests Member of Parliament Bob Blackman in the UK said that “We are harbouring Khalistani terrorists in this country right now. Can we have a debate in government time on what action we can take to ensure that these terrorists are held to account and banned in this country”.

Notably, on March 19 Khalistani terrorists attacked the Indian High Commission office in London as they took down the Indian flag from the office.

ANI reported, “Khalistani elements attempt to pull down the Indian flag but the flag was rescued by Indian security personnel at the High Commission of India, London.”

Also, on March 23, a video clip from a violent Khalistani protest was shared on the internet. In this video, Dal Khalsa UK leader and ISI agent Gurcharan Singh surrounded with flags of Khalistan can be seen saying in Punjabi, ‘Bhagat Singh was a traitor. He proved Sikh leaders as terrorists. He proved the whole Sikh community as terrorist by licking the shoes of Brahmins. He is not ‘Shaheed-e-Azam,’ he is just a traitor. Shaheed-e-Azam’s are those who sacrificed their lives for the Khalsa.’

He further added, ‘Khalsa will be established all around the world and that the idea of Khalsa took birth to rule’.
