Amid the tension running deep in the tribal-dominated region of Narayanpur, the Chhattisgarh police is leaving no stone unturned to safeguard the ulterior interests of evangelists in the Gorra village clash case in which the innocent Hindu tribes were targeted and attacked by a fanatic mob led by the Christian missionaries on January 01.
As per the reports, more than 100 unidentified people from the local Hindu community have been named in the FIR registered by the State police regarding the clashes that broke out on Monday, when the tribes were protesting against the pre-planned attack by the evangelists.
In fact, the State police have been trying to mould the attack as a dispute between the two factions of the same community on a mere scuffle of abuse, which ultimately led to violence in the meetup.
As per the information received, in the FIR registered against the attack on the local Hindu community, police have named several members of the Vanvasi Hindu community as instigators for the dispute. As per the FIR, it was the people from the Vanvasi community who started abusing some villagers from the Christian community, only after which the altercation broke out between the groups.
The State police also registered four separate FIRs for the clashes that broke out the next day when the local Hindu community protested against the attack by the church-backed hooligans. It’s been learnt that people from the Christian community had provoked the members of the local Hindu community when the latter were protesting against the attack resulting in a fresh altercation between the protestors and the mission-backed hooligans in which a senior police official has also been injured.
As per the inputs from reliable sources, the district police is working under tremendous pressure from the mission-supported political machinery under which they have already booked around 100 people from the local Hindu community for rioting. In addition to that five more men from the Vanvasi community have also been named on the complaint of pastor Jomon, confirmed sources.

The Intention of the State Government can also be understood by the fact that amid the prevailing tension between the Vanvasi and the converted Christian group since last month, the State legislator from the ruling Congress party, Chandan Kashyap, had recently participated in a meetup organised by missionaries and had extended his undisguised support to them.
It should be noted that after the deadly attack by the Church-backed evangelists on January 1, leaders from the local Hindu Vanvasi community had given a stern warning to the administration to act against the mission-backed hooligans, but despite that the administration, under political pressure, had denied acting against them and were busy in moulding the incident as a local dispute.

On the next day, when the tribal community were planning to march towards the District Magistrate office, some hooligans from the Christian community again started provoking them to which the Vanvasis retaliated; this unintended clash has left many people injured from both sides, however, its been learnt that in the FIR registered in this matter, the district administration has deliberately named the members from the Vanvasi community only.
Now amid all of this, there is also a growing sense of fear among the local Hindu community that the police, under pressure from the political companions of Christian missionaries, will witch-hunt and make their lives worse in the coming days; this fear of them get bolstered when the police have named 100 of an unidentified person in the FIR, paving the way to handpick and harass anyone on their will.
However, the most astonishing fact of this matter is that despite that the Adivasi community is openly criticising the wishy-washy attitude of the local police and administration, chief minister Bhupesh Baghel has gone silent on this whole incident, it seems like that when the tribal community for which he has always made tall claims needs him the most, he has intentionally left them for the sake of the mission backed friends of the State Government.
