Assam Rifles seize 226 kg of Marijuana worth Rs 90 lakhs in Tripura; 2 peddlers held

Earlier on December 1, 2022, the Radhanagar Battalion of the 21 Sector of Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), seized 386 kgs of Marijuana worth Rs 1.5 crores from the Mungiakami police station area in the Dhalai District of Tripura

Agartala: On January 4, Assam Rifles Battalion based in Radhanagar in Tripura’s capital city Agartala seized a huge quantity of ganja and arrested two peddlers.

The Assam Rifle team seized 226 kg of Marijuana worth Rs 90 Lakhs from Betbagan, under Ambassa police station in Dhalai District.

Based on the credible information, a joint operation was launched by Radhanagar Battalion and Ambassa police station. The team seized 226 Kg of Ganja and apprehended the driver named Dulal Dey and helper Biplab Debnath. Police seized the vehicle.
The individuals along with the vehicle and seized Marijuana were handed over to Ambassa police in the Dhalai District for further investigation and legal proceedings, a statement of the Assam Rifles reads.
