The action against Popular Front of India by NIA and Maharashtra ATS for its involvement in anti-India operations has rattled many.
In Maharashtra the ATS arrested 20 people connected with PFI last week, but then surfaced a video in Pune allegedly showing some of the PFI supporters chanting Pakistan Zindabad slogans.
The Zindabad sloganeering for a country like Pakistan which has caused innumerable suffering in India via its cross border terrorism is something that is unacceptable to any true Indian.
And that too during an arrest of those people accused of furthering the same cause of terrorism.
Since the video surfaced on social media, the Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis has ordered an inquiry and also said that those who shouted the slogans won’t be spared and Pakistan Zindabad slogans won’t be tolerated in India.
However, while many from the BJP and the Shine led Shiv Sena have openly spoken against the sloganeering, what has taken many by surprise the silence of others.
Ashish Shelar the BJP Mumbai president took to Twitter to attack Uddhav Thackeray and his camp over the silence they have maintained since the time the video has come out.
Shekar said, “Those who criticise Sangh, the Prime Minister and Amit Shah for every small thing are silent over the sloganeering.”
Even MNS chief Raj Thackeray spoke against the sloganeering but a quick visit to Uddhav Thackeray’s twitter page will tell you that he hasn’t said a single word against the sloganeering.
What has surprised many is that Balasaheb Thackeray who is also referred as Hindu Hriday Samrat is the founder of Shiv Sena used to speak openly on such issues. He would’ve never accepted such sloganeering as long as he alive.
However, his own son who now leads a faction of Shiv Sena has remained quiet on the anti India sloganeering.
Eknath Shinde in June when he left the MVA a tri-party government comprising of Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress led by Uddhav Thackeray, complained that Shiv Sena was going away from the Hindu cause.
Shinde found the support of 40 MLAS and 12 MPs from the Shiv Sena. While Uddhav is left with a fraction of which one MLA is his own son Aaditya Thackeray.
