The Sunday edition of Saamana, a newspaper started by Balasaheb Thackeray, printed an article that attacked the Home Minister Amit Shah. However, in the process exposed how Sharad Pawar allegedly influenced the Godhra case when he was part of the UPA government.
Shah during his recent Mumbai visit had stated in a close door meeting that BMC has to be won by BJP. He even narrated to the BJP leaders present at Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s official bungalow Meghdoot the account of how Uddhav Thackeray betrayed the BJP.
The audio got leaked, and there was a major political scene in Maharashtra. The reason being that this was the first time when Amit Shah who had maintained a stoic silence over Shiv Sena’s allegation that BJP had promised sharing of CM post had busted the myth.
Coming back to Saamana, Uddhav Thackeray after resigning from the post of Chief Minister assumed the post of Editor of the party mouthpiece. He held this designation since the death of Balasaheb Thackeray.
Now coming to the point of Sharad Pawar influencing the Godhara case. The article mentions during UPA tenure, Sharad Pawar allegedly got Amit Shah out on bail in a case related to Godhara case.
This is a big allegation that, once again exposes how several people were involved in fixing Narendra Modi and Amit Shah in cases related to Godhra. After almost 20 years, Narendra Modi got a clean chit from the Supreme Court and now this instance has once again exposed how sitting ministers from the UPA tenure could influence the case.
Not only this, the article has further mentioned that Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena MP who is in jail right now, can elaborate on this issue, which goes on to show that Raut was very much aware about everything but kept quiet.
It is high time that Sharad Pawar and the NCP comes out with an answer to the statement made by Saamana with editor as Uddhav Thackeray.
The newspaper while criticising Amit Shah and wanting to stop the BJP from forming a government in 2024 general election urged that Nitish and the Yadavs should hold north, while Thackeray and Pawar take charge of Maharashtra, only then will they be able to hold back the BJP.
Prabodhankar Thackeray, father of Balasaheb Thackeray was way ahead of his time, he was amongst those few in Maharashtra who never advocated caste system. He along with his friends are even given the credit for turning Navratri back then from a household event to a public event in Mumbai and nearby areas.
These small statements mentioned in the Saamana bursts the myth that Shiv Sena backed Narendra Modi during his struggles post Godhra riots. Perhaps it was only Balasaheb in Shiv Sena, who had unwavering faith in him and not so much the people around him.
