Tejaswini was not one who would commit suicide. Her family members have been saying this since her body was found hanging at her boyfriend’s farmhouse on May 4.

The family alleges that she was gang-raped and murdered by Mohammed Sadiq, her boyfriend.

The police had collected the body and sent it for post-mortem. Based on the first post-mortem, the police claimed that there were no signs of rape and murder, and Tejaswini had committed suicide.

Police claimed that on the night of May 4, Tejaswini, with her boyfriend Sadiq, went to his farmhouse, and they stayed there for about two hours. Later, when Sadiq had gone to collect food for the two, Tejaswini committed suicide. Police said there were marks on her body because she made attempt to commit suicide. Police could not explain the motive behind the suicide.

The family claims that Mohammed Sadiq and his friends gang-raped and murdered her.

A second post-mortem was conducted at the Penukonda government hospital when the family insisted. The police claimed that even the second post-mortem ruled out any rape and murder.

The opposition Telugu Desam Party and Jana Sena alleged that the police were not conducting a fair probe under political pressure. They even blocked the convoy of Sri Sathya Sai district SP Rahul Dev Singh to register their protest.

The police arrested Mohammed Sadiq and assured that a fair probe would be conducted into the matter.
