Hon’ble Raksha Mantri (RM), Shri Rajnath Singh, inaugurated the Air Force Commanders’ Conference (AFCC) at Air Headquarters on April 6, 2022.
Speaking to the senior commanders, the RM stated that the topics being discussed in AFCC were relevant and contemporary in the present context, and covered the entire canvas of issues/ challenges that are being faced by the nation. He said that he was happy to observe that the directions given by higher authorities were comprehensively being discussed in the conference and would be the guiding light for all future course of action. The Hon’ble RM praised the IAF’s evacuation effort in Operation Ganga which has been appreciated by the country.
EXERCISE VARUNA 2022 CULMINATED
The 20th edition of the Indo-French bilateral Naval exercise ‘Varuna-2022’ culminated on April 3, 2022. The exercise this year had an expanded scope to cover a broad spectrum of maritime operations. The tactical sea phase of the exercise laid primary focus on advanced anti-submarine warfare tactics, gunnery shoots, seamanship evolutions, tactical manoeuvres and extensive air operations. The units also undertook cross deck landings by integral helicopters, showcasing a high level of interoperability between them. Gun firing and underway replenishment procedures were also exercised between ships.
