Kohima: Nagaland BJP president and Minister in Neiphiu Rio cabinet, Temjen Imna Along, made a big statement on the floor of the Nagaland Assembly pertaining to the Naga Political talks, reports the Northeast Live.

Speaking on the floor of the house, Along stated that everyone knows the demand for a separate flag and a separate constitution is not achievable. He said the government of India is also compelled by the constitution of India, and the same constitution doesn't allow a separate flag and Constitution for any state within the country.

Along also questioned why a solution could not be achieved after talks between NSCN (IM) and the government of India officially concluded on October 31st, 2019.

Along also reiterated that it was important for everyone to understand flag and constitution demand is impractical. The Civil Society and pressure groups of the state also need to understand the same.

Along further added, "We all have taken oaths of the constitution of India to fulfil the aspirations of the people of the state. The government of India is also under the same constitution and flag of India. How can they give you a separate flag and constitution?" he questioned. He also said that the stalled political problem of the state should come to an end so that the Naga people could live in peace and get the benefit of good governance.
