New Delhi: At an election rally at Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi used his good orator and vocal power skills to tell the voters that strong leadership matters.
"Your single vote counts..it will make India stronger. Tough times call for tough leadership," he said in his irreplaceable style. The Prime Minister said, "You all are witnessing there is turmoil…in this uncertain time in the world, our country India should be strong." Modi said each vote in Uttar Pradesh would matter and be decisive in making India developed and strong.
The Prime Minister's macho image of leading the world's largest democracy is counted sincerely even in the comity of nations. US President Joe Biden has indicated that it wants New Delhi under Modi to play a part in defusing the ongoing conflict.
Ukraine envoy to India Igor Polikha has said PM Modi is among the very few leaders whom Russian President Vladimir Putin listens to, and the Indian government should use proximity with Moscow to bring the situation in Ukraine under control.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday (February 24), spoke with the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, amid the tensions in Ukraine.
The two leaders had a telephone conversation in which President Putin briefed Prime Minister about the recent developments regarding Ukraine. Prime Minister reiterated his long-standing conviction that the differences between Russia and the NATO group can only be resolved through honest and sincere dialogue. Prime Minister appealed for an immediate cessation of violence and called for concerted efforts from all sides to return to the path of diplomatic negotiations and dialogue.
Prime Minister also sensitised the Russian President about India's concerns regarding the safety of the Indian citizens in Ukraine, especially students, and conveyed that India attaches the highest priority to their safe exit and return to India.
The leaders agreed that their officials and diplomatic teams would continue to maintain regular contacts on issues of topical interest.
