The attack started Friday (December 17) evening allegedly after some social media post about Prophet Muhammed went viral.

Multiple Hindu houses, shops, vehicles were attacked on Friday (December 17) evening in Maharashtra's Yavatmal district allegedly after a social media post about Prophet Muhammed went viral.

Marathi channels reported the attack started in Yavatmal over the claim that a defamatory post about Prophet Muhammed is doing the rounds on the internet.

Some Marathi channels also reported that calls for ‘Sir tan se juda’ were also raised. Some miscreants also tried to attack a police station.

In April this year, Muslims in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly took out a massive rally after Friday prayers and raised slogans “Gustakh-E-Rasool ki ek hi saza, sar tan se juda, sar tan se juda”.

On December 3, a murderous mob of Muslims in Pakistan’s Sialkot burnt alive a Sri Lankan national after accusing him of blasphemy. The crowd was continuously raising the slogan “Gustakh-E-Rasool ki ek hi saza, sar tan se juda, sar tan se juda”.
