The Communist government in Kerala has been consistently hiding the Covid-19 related figures. A fifth of total Covid-19 deaths in Kerala were recognised only after the family members of the deceased raised an appeal.
Of the total 37229 Covid-19 deaths in the Left-ruled Kerala, 7404 deaths were recognised only after the family members of the deceased raised an appeal with the health authorities.
On January 27 last year, first Covid-19 case in the country was detected in Kerala. A 20-year-old female student, whom had returned from Wuhan city in China on January 23, reported sick to a hospital in Kerala.
In March last year, nationwide lockdown was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to contain the spread of the virus.
Kerala and Maharashtra are the only two states in the country who have not been able to effectively contain the virus.
The Test Positivity Rate (TPR) in Kerala has reached 10.5 percent.
As reported by the Organiser, Kerala declared 13235 Covid-19 deaths but actually registered 19584 Covid-19 deaths till June 30 this year. It had underreported deaths by at least one-third.
In July this year, Kerala was accounting for half of the new Covid-19 cases in the country.
In April this year, Kerala reported that it accounted just 1.4 percent of the total Covid-19 deaths in the country. Now it has come to light that it had massively underreported the figures.
In comparison, Yogi Adityanath ruled Uttar Pradesh reported only 10 new fresh cases. Kerala’s population is about 3,5 crores whereas Uttar Pradesh’s population is about 22 crores.
