The ministers were accompanied by the high commissioner and the deputy high commissioner. They also performed pooja at the temple.

Two ministers of the Sri Lankan government, accompanied by the high commissioner and the deputy high commissioner, reached Shri Ram mandir in Ayodhya on Thursday (October 28) and donated sacred 'shila' brought from the Sita Mandir in Ashok Vatika in Sri Lanka. The visiting dignitaries performed pooja and aarti of Shri Ramlalla.

"High Commissioner, Deputy High Commissioner & 2 Ministers from the National Goverment of Srilanka today visited Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir & donated 'shila' brought from Ashok Vatika in Srilanka. The dignitaries also performed Pujan and Aarati of Bhagwan Shri Ramlalla Sarkar", posted Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, trust constituted to look after construction and management of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya, on Twitter on Thursday (October 28).

The landmark judgement of the Supreme Court on November 9, 2019, paved the way for the construction of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya. The Ram Bhakts waited for about 500 years for this auspicious day. On August 5 last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed Bhoomi Poojan of the grand temple.

As per the directions of the Supreme Court, Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust was constituted to look after the construction and management of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya. The construction of the temple is in full swing.

The temple is expected to open for the public in December 2013. Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra posted on Twitter on October 14, "The construction work of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir is continuing with fast pace. Devotees will be able to have darshans of Bhagwan in the Garbha Gruha from December 2023."

It added, "First phase of foundation work is over, while second phase will be over by Mid November."

On August 29, President Shri Ramnath Kovind visited Ayodhya for darshan-poojan of Shri Ramlalla. In a statement, Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra said, "Hon'ble President Shri Ramnath Kovind today did Darshan-Pujan of Bhagwan Shri Ramlalla Virajman at Shri Ramjanmabhumi Complex in Ayodhya." It added, "Members of the trust informed Rashtrapati ji about the ongoing construction work at the site. He also planted a sapling in the complex." Shri Ramnath Kovind is the first president to visit Shri Ramlalla. In January this year, President Kovind had donated INR 5,00,100 for the construction of the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya,

"A delegation of four people had gone to receive the good wishes of the Hon'ble President. The President, along with his family, donated a cheque of five lakh and one hundred rupees for the construction of the temple. We are happy that this national movement for temple construction has begun with his hands," Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) spokesperson Vinod Bansal had said.

The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) ran a month-long campaign in January this year to raise funds to construct a grand Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya.
