Moti Ram was involved in several major terrorist attacks against security forces, especially the attack near the Tadmetla village in 2010, in which seventy-six security personnel were martyred.

The dreaded Left-wing terrorist Motiram, a member of PLGA-1, one of the most powerful battalions of Maoists, has been arrested from Bijapur in operation conducted by the security forces. According to the information received, on Sunday (September 12), a joint team of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Special Task Force (STF) and district police nabbed Moti Ram between Patelpara and Golgunda villages of Bijapur district.

Left-wing terrorist Motiram and his Maoist accomplices attacked security personnel near the Tadmetla village in 2010. Seventy-six security personnel were martyred in this attack. Apart from this, there is strong evidence of his involvement in the 2017 Burkapal Naxalite attack, in which 25 CRPF personnel were martyred. Moti Ram, a resident of the Naimed area of Bijapur district, was involved in several major terrorist attacks in the southern region of the Bastar division. Security agencies are considering his arrest as a big success. The Chhattisgarh government had also placed a bounty of 8 lakh on Maoist terrorist Motiram, synonymous with terror in these areas, for almost 11 years.

Motiram, an active participant in many Maoist terrorist activities, worked with the infamous Maoist Madavi Hidma. It is to be known that the PLGA battalion number one, of which Motiram is a member, is headed by Madavi Hidma. With his arrest, such speculations are being made that information about the whereabouts of Madavi Hidma, the main conspirator of the recent Bijapur attack, can also be extracted. Along with this, important information can also be obtained about one of the most powerful Maoists in the Bastar division, PLGA Battalion No. One.

It should be noted that on April 6,  2010, Naxalites ambushed a battalion of security personnel in Tadmetla village of Sukma district. In this sudden attack, 75 CRPF personnel and one district force jawan were martyred. CRPF personnel patrolling near Tadmetla village, about five km away from Chintalnar camp, had entered the forest under the guise of terrorists. The Maoists who were already hiding there opened fire on the trapped jawans. The encounter, which started at around six in the morning, lasted only an hour. It was the same attack, after which a fraction of students and teachers of the Left group of Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi celebrated the killing of soldiers.

It is believed that when a dreaded terrorist involved in this attack has been arrested, after interrogating him, the security forces can conduct more similar operations. It should be noted that in recent days, the security forces have been conducting a vigorous campaign against the Maoists. Along with this, the continuous surrender from Maoist organizations in the Bastar division has brought these already weakened Left extremists on the back foot.
