In a significant achievement, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed the 63 crore mark. The cumulative figure stands at 63 crore 67 thousand and 629. More than 48 crore 53 lakh vaccine doses have been administered as first dose and over 14 crore 46 lakh vaccine doses given as second doses so far.
The Union Health Ministry announced that over 65 lakh vaccine doses were administered yesterday. The new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from 21st June this year.
The vaccination exercise as a tool to protect the most vulnerable population groups in the country from COVID-19 continues to be regularly reviewed and monitored at the highest level.
