In its mail, Twitter said that the verification request earlier was wrongly processed and did not meet their criteria for verification.

Days after DisInfo Lab revealed how Pakistani nexus was spreading propaganda about Kashmir in western countries and inciting trouble in Kashmir, and it lost its blue tick (verification status) on Twitter.

In an email, Twitter informed DisInfo Lab, “We have reviewed your request to have your Twitter account verified, and found it was incorrectly processed. This account does not meet our criteria at this time.”

DisInfo Lab said in a statement that it got this mail from Twitter two months and eleven days after verification.

On August 3, the DisInfo Lab published a long piece titled “Kashmir Inc: A Conflict Industry”, detailing how a nexus was involved in spreading Pakistani propaganda about Kashmir and how it was monetarily benefiting from it.

Since then, it has witnessed over 40,000 cyber attacks on its website in 24 hours.

Immediately after the DisInfo Lab published the investigative story, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan Niazi’s team member Arslan Khalid attacked DisInfo Lab, posting on Twitter, “This @DisinfoLab acc is Indian sponsored fake acc doing fake narratives on Pakistan & Kashmir struggle. These very same ppl used to run a fake network The International Herald posing as subsidiary of @HeraldTribune and used to pay writers for writing articles against Pakistan.”
