eVictim farmer Mukesh was burnt alive by the fellow farmers on June 16, in Bahadurgarh where they were protesting against the three progressive farm laws passed by the Union government.

 

Protesting farmers in Bahadurgarh on June 16 burnt alive a fellow farmer, Mukesh, after a fight.

 

The victim succumbed in the hospital later.

 

After the victim died in the hospital, the police filed a case under Section 307 (attempt to kill) of the IPC, which was later modified to Section 302 (murder). 

 

ANI quoted police official Jaibhagwan, “It was said in the statement that his brother had been to farmers' protest where he was set ablaze, he had named some people. Postmortem has been done. The further probe will be done based on facts. It has been told to us that the accused are from Jind.”

 

The victim was a resident of Kasaar in Jind.

 

The accused were consuming some intoxicant when a fight started amongst them. The farmers poured some inflammable substance onto him and set him on fire.

 

The farmers have been protesting for over eight months in Delhi-NCR against the three progressive farm laws passed by the Narendra Modi government.

 

Earlier, a young protester from West Bengal was gang-raped by fellow protesters. She later died in the hospital.
