The Chinese authorities have reported the first human case of H10N3 strain of bird flu.
First human case of H10N3 strain of bird flu has been reported in China. A 41-year-old man from Jiangsu province was diagnosed with the strain on May 28, said China’s National Health Commission.
The man was admitted in the hospital on April 28 with flu-like symptoms and was diagnosed with H10N3 avian influenza virus on May 28, reported Reuters.
The man is stable and will be discharged from the hospital soon.
All his contacts were traced but no other case was found.
H10N3 is not deadly, added NHC. But, given that it is the first reported infection of this nature, it will be watched very closely.
The world is currently suffering a global pandemic because of Covid-19 which originated in China.
Evidence is getting louder everyday that Wuhan Institute of Virology in China is the origin of the Covid-19 virus.
The NHC has issued an advisory to the people to avoid contact with birds and maintain hygiene.
