Personally, I take it as a great opportunity to Review the Book Written by Prof Richard Hay (Rajya Sabha Member 16th Lok Sabha). A humble human being, an Anglo Indian who proved his presence felt in this great land when he was able to obtain NAAC accreditation for Government Collages (in Brennen, Mokeri, and Koyilandy). A staunch follower in culture, democracy, development and social justice was traced and given an opportunity by PM Narendra Modi to serve this Nation. He worked 16 Hours as a Parliamentarian and showed his commitment to the Nation.
In the book, his vision, articulations and thinking beyond seas are explored. From Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning to working for Agriculture, Fishing, Ango Indian Minority Rights, he has touched the poorest of the poor. He has stood and has taken the vision of AatmaNirbhar Bharat to the local level. Sabke Sath Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas have been made sure and felt in the work.
Dedicating his book to PM Narendra Modi, he starts with his Formative Influences and his life during the early stage of swimming to the day-to-day happenings and the vision to grow. Then in “What does it mean to be a Member of Parliament”, readers can get to understand his vision, his days in Parliament, Anglo Indian Rights, Why he admires PM Modi and how he started discovering India more powerfully, and his area of New National Education Policy is seen. Later he has given suggestions to the Indian Economy, Kerala Economy, Digital Dreams, Women’s Rights, Saving seas, Spices Business and more.
He explains who are Anglo Indians in their plight how the British treated them like “Eurasian Orphans.” The lost power and their socio-economic conditions now and steps to improve their lives are touched. Why I admire PM Modi, says, “Gentle but firm, Humble but passionate, and grateful but hard-working –a leader of leaders with integrity and fortitude, who envisions to bring happiness to all families especially the suppressed.”
Personally, for me, he is a great adviser whom I used to look for all the 100 or more suggestions I gave to the Government of India; he would at first respond and evaluate the suggestion. That itself showed how well he was committed to the new ideas and suggestions. He made sure the suggestions turned to policy. His Private Member Bill on Waste Management and Recycling 2016 and Professional Social Work Bill 2018 were presented in Parliament. His role in the North East was immense. He explains his works there. His role in improving relations with Kazakhstan is of high importance as he builds personal rapport with Parliamentarians there, making PM Modi visit twice.

Why one has to read his book is his dedication, description and daring to thrive for going up. With the inspiration of PM Modi as he says he wanted to stay put, preserve and proceed further. As he quotes Mark Twain, “The Secret of getting ahead is getting started.” Ernest Hemingway, “Most people were heartless about turtles because a turtle’s heart will beat for hours after it has been cut up and butchered.” William Wordsworth “Nature never did betray The heart that loved her” makes us feel how emotional, committed he was to the cause he worked for. The book is worth reading for National Patriots, Business People, aspiring young Politicians, Policy Makers, Women and Youngsters at large.
