Saving lives and saving livelihoods, both are the priorities for my government, said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday.

Under the guidance of the central government, the state government is working on war footing to secure the lives and livelihoods of the people of the state, he added.

The chief minister is touring the state to take stock of the situation.

On Wednesday, he visited Deoria and Kushinagar and inspected the integrated Covid-19 control room.

Earlier, in his televised address to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had ruled out nationwide lockdown saying lives and livelihoods were equally important.

The Yogi Adityanath government is installing more than 300 Oxygen plants to ensure an uninterrupted supply of medical Oxygen.

When the second wave of Covid-19 struck the country in March this year, medical Oxygen demand spiked sharply.

The government has already procured 20000 Oxygen concentrators and is in the process of procuring 20000 more.

The daily bread and wage earners are being taken care of. The government is using Direct Benefit Transfer for it.
