Church of South India’s Munnar retreat becomes COVID spreader; 100 priests infected, 2 dead, police registers case

In a shocking incidence of negligence, more than 100 Church of South India (CSI) priests were infected with the COVID-19 virus after attending a retreat held in Munnar, Kerala the last April. Two priests have died and 5 are in serious condition. COVID protocols were violated and the priests were not wearing masks and social distancing norms were violated.

The annual retreat was held from April 13 to April 17 at CSI Christ Church in Munnar. As per the reports, 350 priests from various churches attended the retreat.

The police have registered case against the organisers of the retreat. CSI officials and the priests who took part in the retreat will also be charged. A case will also be charged against the CSI moderator A DHarmaraj Rassalam
