Taking on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for the post-poll political violence in West Bengal, BJP leader from Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma said in the land of Rabindranath, a tyrant had taken oath as Chief Minister.
He also said she had the blood of innocents on her hand.
Earlier it was reported that more than 450 people had crossed over in Assam to save themselves from the violence perpetrated by the TMC cadre.
Sarma tweeted, “Once the land of Rabindranath Tagore where he taught his fellow countrymen about the spirit of peace and brotherhood, the destiny of Bengal has taken such a painful turn. Today, a tyrant in @MamataOfficial has taken oath as the Chief Minister with blood of innocents on her hands.”
In the post poll violence perpetrated by the TMC cadre, more than 20 BJP and RSS workers have lost their lives. Many properties were vandalised and torched.
The BJP’s National President J P Nadda, with other senior leaders of the party, is on a two-day visit to West Bengal to meet the families who have faced violence by the TMC cadre.
