People’s, as well as the economy’s health, are our top priorities, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address to the nation Tuesday evening.

He assured the people that the country will win the fight against this wave of Corona.

In his address, the prime minister thanked doctors, paramedics, security forces, ambulance drivers and sanitation workers for their contribution in this fight against the virus.

He also requested the state governments to exercise a lockdown option only as the last resort.

PM Modi condoled the death of the people who have passed away because of the virus related complications.

Invoking Maryada Purushottam Ram, the PM said the lesson from his life was to live in ‘maryada’. If people followed the Covid related norms like mask and physical distancing, the fight against the virus would be much easier.

He requested the state governments to reassure the people to stay wherever they are.

He reassured the people that the government was working overnight to increase the supply of oxygen, medicines and the vaccines.

Bharat has already administered 12 crore doses of the vaccine and has become the fastest country to do so.

In a big relief to the economic sector, the prime minister laid special emphasis that there was no need for the lockdown and even states should focus on small containment zones if the need arises.
