Fearing for His Life After Threat from TMC Leader, Visva Bharati VC Writes to PM for Help

Visva Bharati Vice Chancellor Bidyut Chakrabarty has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking help in protecting his life from a TMC leader.

The VC has alleged in the letter that TMC leader Anubrata Mondal threatened him with dire consequences once the polls are over in Bengal.

Today, West Bengal is voting in the second phase of polling for the 294-seat state assembly.

The polling is spread over eight phases and the counting of votes will start on May 2.

Prime Minister Modi is the chancellor of the university established by Rabindranath Tagore in 1921.

In the past also, Mondal has created problems on the university campus.

Currently, the VC is provided security by the state government. In the letter, he has requested the Prime Minister to increase his and his family’s security.
