The Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen is expected to visit Bharat next month.
The visit is significant considering the Prime Ministers of Bharat and Denmark had a virtual summit in September last year.
In the joint statement issued after the virtual summit, the two Prime Ministers had “agreed to elevate India-Denmark relations to a Green Strategic Partnership”.
Elaborating it, the statement had noted “Green Strategic Partnership is a mutually beneficial arrangement to advance political cooperation, expand economic relations and green growth, create jobs and strengthen cooperation on addressing global challenges and opportunities…”.
This will be the first visit by any head of government to Bharat after the disruption caused by Covid-19 since March last year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Denmark later this year for the 2nd India Nordic Summit.
Prime Minister Modi had travelled to Stockholm in April 2018 for the first India-Nordic Summit.
