Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is Selflessly Serving Bharat for the Last 96 Years, Says UP CM Yogi Adityanath

Since its inception in 1925, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has been working selflessly and tirelessly for the Bharatiya Vision, said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow on Friday.

“The RSS’ vision has been to work for the last person in society and I’ve seen swayamsevaks working round the clock in the most difficult terrain to help the needy”, he said.

The Chief Minister released the book “Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh: Swarnim Bharat ke Disha Sutra by Sunil Ambekar”. Dattatreya Hosabole (Sah Sarkaryavah, RSS), Krishna Gopal (Sah Sarkaryavah, RSS) and Sunil Ambekar (Akhil Bharatiya Sah Prachar Pramukh, RSS) graced the occasion.

Narrating one personal experience, the chief minister said because of heavy snowfall he once got stuck in Kedarnath. He was curious to know what happens to people in medical need in such circumstances. Upon inquiry, he got to know RSS was running a hospital in the area.

Countering the negative narrative set by some vested interests, Ambekar ji said, “The aim of the RSS is not to control the society but to empower it. But some people keep spreading lies that once Sangh grows, it’ll control the society.”
Shri Hosabole told the gathering the number of people presenting expert opinions about the RSS without even knowing the RSS has increased in the last few years. “We have noticed in the last few years people have started spreading misconceptions about the Sangh Parivar, the RSS. To know the RSS, people need to join the Sakha, feel it”, he said.

There has been a lot of fear-mongering around Hindu Rashtra, and all of it is done by the people who don’t understand the concept of Hindu Rashtra, he explained. He added, “Hindu Rashtra is not a theological concept. Hindutva is not Hindu religion. As Savarkar ji has said Hindu religion is just a part of Hindutva.”

He lamented the fact that intellectual circus has done more harm to the country in the last few years. “All the people living in the country have one DNA and that DNA is Hindu. It’s not about just Hindu religion”, he explained.

English playwright William Shakespeare has said What’s there in a name. Countering this age-old adage, Hosabole ji said ‘Name’ does signify a history, a culture, an emotion, and understanding. And it’s the reason Allahabad’s name was changed to Prayagraj.

The work of the RSS can’t be summarised in a book. But it’s an attempt to spread the right information about the ideology and work of the Sangh. Recollecting his idea of writing a book, Ambekar ji said, “In my travels in the country and abroad, I realised people are interested in the work Sangh is doing and want to contribute. But there are many misconceptions too about the RSS. This book is just an attempt to fill the gap.”
